Any experience with Walmart $9 glasses?

They came in really fast, too. We went and ordered them on Saturday, and they were ready to pick up on Tuesday!

Do they do the eye exams as well, or do you have to go in w/ prescription in hand?

While I have never done this special, I have to say I love walmart for glasses. They are very reasonable. I just bought frames online for my daughter. She is four with a petite face and the selection everywhere for frames locally was terrible. I got the lenses from walmart though with transitions and they turned out great.

For the poster who asked about the fisher price frames. They did not have that brand but they did have a few others with the wraparound. I was actually kind of bummed because they never had them when my daughter needed them.

oh great, I think I just got screwed. I just ordered DD's glasses toinight and the frames were $9 and the lenses were $29 and then I got charged a $20 lab processing fee. DD was having a fit so I just signed and didn't even question it. what the heck, I wonder what they charged me that for? I didn't even think about it until reading this thread because I just wanted to get out of there.

It migh just depend on where you live. The special where I live is $49. Even when I went they did not have anything my dd liked for those frames.

I would ask. I was charged the extra $20 but that was because I used my own frames.

The Walmart closest to me..while I didn't actually walk INTO the optical department, had a banner that said, "Back to School special! Kids glasses starting at $49!!!' So I drove a few miles farther (I live in a good sized city, there are Walmarts everywhere around here) to go to one that had the $9 special. So I bet you are right, every location is different.
