DD and friend are going to Universal on the Jan 13 and staying at POP for the week.

Is Mears and hassle? No Problem? What's your experience with them.

I used them this past May for an attraction transfer or two and they were decent. They can sometimes be difficult to get a hold of as far as pick-ups are concerned, but we had no major problems. I would use them again.

That's what I am afraid of. DD getting stranded at Universal.

in 1999 me and dw used mears from all star music and back did not have any problems with them we were the last pick up so we boarded and went straight to universal then coming back we caught a bus with no wait ,but then again that was a long time ago in sept 04 we had mears from mco to pop i did not like the service we waited about 45 -a hour for a transfer from mco to pop going back in feb 05 will be using murray hill,it depends on your budget and how many are you i guess,

Mears is pretty efficient. Just let them know your pick up times advance.

hercamore, please let me know how the Mears transport to Universal went for your DD. DH plans to go to Uni in a few weeks and we're still not sure how he's going to get there.
He wasn't sure how he'd reconnect with Mears about his return trip as we don't have a cell phone........so I'm wondering how it all works for other people.

There are tons of Mears buses and taxis at "Guest pickup and drop off" every night after park closing. I wouldn't think he would have any trouble. There are always taxis in case he misses the last bus. Taxis and busses are there even as late as an hour after closing.

phampton, DD goes to niversal this thursday. I'll tell her about buses. If they miss, they'll have to pay for taxi.

DIS Min, let you know how it goes.

I've been wondering the same thing. I get free Universal tix thru work so my bf and I were going to go there one day (we are staying at WDW).

I'm leaning towards just using a towncar, it'll be more expensive, but also more convenient. -Steph

I have used Mears to go from DW to US several times and recommend them. It does seem you are sitting in the bus waiting to get back to DW for awhile, but the seats are comfortable and after all that walking its just nice to sit down anywhere that has AC and a padded seat!

We'd really like to get to Universal before they open the gates. Will Mears get us there early enough ya think?

When you call and make the reservation for them to pick you up if they tell you they will have a bus at your resort 9:00AM, tell them no, you want to be picked up by 8:00AM. For some reason when I called my first time I used their service they told me when they would pick me up after that trip, I told them when I wanted to be picked up and they come at my requested time and I was at the park before it opened after that.

Thanks, Dee. That's what I'll do. What I dimly recall from the last time we used them was that we didn't factor in all the stops they made at other area hotels along the way - Caribe Royale, the DtD hotels, etc. It added to the travel time and we arrived later than we had hoped. We're trying to do both Universal Parks in one day, so getting there by opening is critical.

Hi disneyjunkie!

I do believe it is approximately $14 for the round trip.

I believe Mears charged us 10.00 per person RT, might be more now, that was a couple yrs ago.
