Any experience with Sheraton Park and bringing your dog?

I know Sheraton Park is pet friendly, which is one reason we booked, because we are bringing our absolutely adorable Corgi with us.

This is our first vacation in years and our first time bringing our dog with us.

Is there anything that we should know regarding bringing our dog to the hotel with us?

Are the rooms clean or do they smell as if a dog was already there? That's my concern, our dog is housetrained, but I think he if smells the smell, he may end up breaking his training.

Is there a place to walk him?

How soundproof are the rooms? I know he will bark sometimes and just don't want to distrub people. he's not an all night barker, but if something startles him, he will let us know.

We are keeping him at the Disneyland Kennel for the 4 days we will be at the parks, so he won't be in the room by himself.

Is there a problem with him being in the room alone for about an hour if we go and grab some dinner? Otherwise, we will do room service or one of us will go down and bring back the food.

Thank you so much for any advice or any information anyone can give me.

Thanks again!
Charlene

One other question, how soundproof are the walls too?

Thanks again for any information!

Hi,

Post the answers on another forum, but will post here also.

1st, be aware that the hotel will require the pup be in a crate when you aren't in the room with him.

2. The rooms are not sound proof, and barking will have people calling the front desk (not a single bark, but repeated barking.) I suggest a form of white noise so he won't notice noises outside the room as much.

3. Smells - I would hope that between the owners and the management, there would be no smells left, however, if your dog should have an accident, I would make sure to clean it up using something like Miracle and then notify the hotel housekeeping staff so they can double check it also.

Our dogs travel with us all the time. The big thing to remember is to clean up after your pup. Too often we see people let their dog relieve themselves and figure since it is a dog friendly hotel, the staff will clean up after them.

As for walking the dog, the walks to and from the park will be about 3/4 a mile each way. I don't remember seeing much other area to walk the dog.

We generally stay at the Residence Inn. The dogs even enjoy it!

Thank you for the info. Our dog will be with us at Disney during the day. We had thought of stopping at Target after checking in, but decided against it, since we are not bringing his crate with us.

The only thing I am nervous about is his barking. He doesn't bark for the sake of barking, but if he hears a loud noise, he will tell us. We have been trying really hard to train him to not bark when he hears our neighbors opening and closing their doors, but he still does bark.

This will be our first time ever staying at a hotel with our dog. I don't want to wake anyone up with him barking. Again, he doesn't bark non stop, but still, I know even 1 bark can irrate people.

So, thank you again so much for letting me know this stuff. Now I know, got to remember to bring our radio with us as a way to drown out any noise he will hear.
