Any experience with MDE & Expedia?

We have some friends who have not booked their trip through Disney, but rather Expedia and they will be staying at the Swan. Has anyone else done this and have there been any problems in setting up MDE and FP+'s?
Because we're DVC'ers this has just not been an issue and I could use some advice.
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Do they have tickets in hand or a unique ticket identifier available to them? If so, that can be linked to MDX for the purpose of scheduling FPs.

At this time, they have nothing but the Expedia reservation.
I know you are the expert on FP+ and I apologize for not having read all of your thread. May I ask if a Swan stay is eligible for 30 or 60 day out booking of FP+?
Or is it only if the stay is booked through Disney?

Yes! I've booked through both Priceline and Expedia - and I apologize I can't remember the specifics on either. But, on the confirmation page there will be a longish number. It is the number to use to link into MDE. For one of them (sorry can't remember which) I couldn't get it to work, so I had to call and do it over the phone. Also, for one of them, maybe both, the reservation has to be "in the system" for so many days before you can link it. I think it's around 7 days. But outside bookings can be linked!

Sorry, I know I'm being vague! ;)

Recent postings about Expedia on the Resorts forum say that Expedia actually has the needed confirmation number either in the email or in your account. So it's super-easy to link to MDE.

I did it last year with UK Expedia. I can't remember exactly how, but I was able to use my confirmation # from the expedia email to set up all my FP and dining just like any other onsite reservation.

I just linked a room only reservation from Orbitz to MDE. Not sure if it's similar to how an Expedia reservation works, but all I had to do was input my confirmation number in MDE where it gives the option to link a reservation. Everything showed up fine. Just be sure to tell your friend to double check the address on file for the reservation, though. The default address for my Magic Bands (and online check in, etc.) was the Orbitz address. I was able to update it to my own address without any issues.
