Any experience with food allergies and Disneyland Paris or Tokyo

My parents are big travelers, and love to go overseas. We have always wanted to join them on one of these trips, but I worry so much about my milk, egg, and peanut allergic DS. Then I thought, Hey Disney is so great with food allergies, I wonder if that extends to the Paris, Tokyo, and Hong Kong resorts?

Does anyone have experience with this?

It finally occurred to me last year that the Disney Cruise line takes great care of those with food allergies - just like they do in the parks. We cruised last year on a Western (Grand Cayman and Cozumel) and this year we're booked for an alternate Western (Costa Maya, Cozumel and Castaway Cay twice). My younger son with the peanut allergy (touch allergic) is also a type 1 diabetic. The kids clubs did a FANTASTIC job with him. We had to keep a close eye on him ourselves because of the diabetes but the food allergies were no problem.

DCL did European cruises last year - unfortunately staying in the Caribbean for 2009. But a family cruise might be a nice option.:thumbsup2

I also looked at some more adventurous cruises - an Eastern Med cruise that has excursions to the Egyptian Pyramids for example - on RCCL. I've read they are also very good with allergies. The nice thing about the cruise is (whether Caribbean or abroad) that you have a "home base" to come back to every day and you can always get safe meals there. Plus you have a medical facility right there if you need it.

We're AP holders at Disneyland Paris, we mostly do counter service and the occasional restaurant, mostly at Disney Village.

I've found that special ordering of any kind is hard at best. My DD has undetermined food allergies and pretty much lives on fries while we're there, even her beloved pizza is a bit funky for her.

My husband (French by birth) says to expect European service aka slow and inefficient. Our worst meal ever was at the Rainforest Cafe at DLP - four hours from the time we sat down to the time we left. :scared1:

For Disneyland Paris I would talk to guest relations and see what they have to say. You can also check http://www.dlpfoodguide.com for more info.

Despite the allergies and issues, I would totally recommend going, it's worth it and totally gorgeous!
