I'm trying to make a decision ASAP on a scooter rental for my upcoming trip on Jan. 25. In September I rented the Go Go Elite Plus from Apple, and loved how easy it was to maneuver, etc. The Apple scooter was in pretty rough shape, though-- ripped upholstery, faulty ignition, crooked tiller and unreliable. I was faithful about charging it and turning it off whenever possible, and it still died on me several times. I had to jiggle the key just right to turn it on and then if I hit a bump in the pavement it would stall again. Thankfully my DH was with me, so he was able to help me with the scooter when needed and push it back to bell services for me at the end of our stay. We probably should have attempted to replace it, but it didn't cause too many problems until the latter part of our trip, and at that point, with our trip being so short, we just "rode it out".
On this trip DH won't be along to lean on. Even though I'm sure that some people have had no problems with scooters from Apple, I'm a bit hesitant to go with Apple again; but I do need to go with one of the preferred vendors that can leave the scooter with bell services, due to my late night flight arrival and early morning flight departure. Best Price Mobility will match Apple's rental price, so I'm thinking about giving them a try. Since they are a newer company, I'm having trouble finding reviews for them. Have any of you rented from them in the past?
