Any events to be aware of in mid-August?

We are planning a trip to Southern California, and it looks like we will have days available for sightseeing from Friday, Aug. 10 through Saturday Aug. 18 (i.e. arriving the 9th, leaving the 19th). We're planning to allocate 3 days to visit Disneyland/California Adventure. I know the general rule of thumb has been that mid-week is best---is this still true? I'm also wondering if there is anything going on during that time period that should make us shift our DL days toward one end of the trip or the other? For example, it would be fun to end our trip at DL, but we'd rather have lower crowds, if it will be a significant difference.

We're used to visitng WDW, but I don't know where to look for the information for DL/CA the way I normally do for WDW. For example, are there special "events" going on during that time, or schools restaring (and if so, what does that do to attendance) or anything else I should be aware of (and is there a place to see such information collected?). Thanks for any help.

It looks like you lucked out and will miss some potentially huge crowds starting on the 19th. Other than that then you are good.

Destination D is during that time, but we'll be at the DLH for most of the time, so shouldn't impact crowds at all, plus it's a pretty small group. I think crowds will be very high all summer because of DCA and CarsLand, although to hear everyone complaining about the ticket price increases it might be a ghost town.

I read the thread from 2007 are these still true?

You can still use Fast Passes after the time they expire. When I went last year I heard this was ending and CM would not let you enter the FP line. I never had the guts to go past the allotted time and waste a FP.

Also can you still get multiple FP just waiting an hour in between getting them?

Thanks for any responses in advance

Not sure which thread you are talking about.

In any case...

- Yes you can use FPs at DLR anytime after the window on that day. There are hundreds if not thousands of people on this forum who do it all the time.

- After you get a FP you can get another FP for another ride any time from 45-120 minutes after. The next time you can a FP is clearly printed on the FP. See "Getting the Most Out of FastPass During High Season" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=885132 for some detailed information.

Thanks Hydro Guy. I should have been more specific about the thread:

In this thread is a link to this thread: Getting The Most Out of a Summer Visit To DLR" www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1345319.

I just wanted more current information.

So thanks for the update; that they have not cracked down on people using their fast passes beyond the time stamped when you are "supposed" to use the pass.

Looking forward to our trip.
