I remember when our youngest left for college and I stood there looking at my DH's balding head while he laid on the sofa watching football......there for a moment, panic set in with the thought of 'holy sh#$@t'!! Life is wonderful w/o the kids, our trips are alot of fun too. They've been gone so long now, that we DON'T want them coming. We've got 2 still single daughters in their early 30's. End up falling back into that 'mom' mode and my husband and I end up paying for the meals, etc, since they are single..............Back on track here with your question...........Our trips to WDW are great. If DH wants to sit in the room and kick back, he can, I can go do my thing. If we want to eat early (kids tend to think dinner is alot later than we do), we can. The only folks we need to please now are ourselves!
It tkes awhile to get into that empty nest mode, but once you do, it's wonderful!!!!
