Are there any hotels in Port Canaveral that offer an early check in, for a fee? One that is paid because the room will be ready for you say around noon or 1?

I don't know this to be a 'feature' of any place

however you CAN CALL and talk to a PEOPLE and may be able to arrange this. In the same way I've occasionally gone to the desk and arranged late checkout .......

OR

most places will check you in and hold your bags until your room is ready allowing access to pool etc . . .

Ya, well I am looking at flying in around 8:30 in the morning. Right now I was planning to stay Disney, but if this could happen at the port, I might just swing back in that direction.

Neither a Disney hotel or a port hotel are going to guarantee early check in unless you pay for the night before. You can call ahead and request early check in and they usually will if the room is available. You generally can't be picky on room. If I am trying to check in early, I usually say I will take the first room available. If you need some specialty room or have lots of requests then your room may not be available till the stated check in time.

As others have said, if you show up early they will let you store your luggage and enjoy the amenities of the hotel till your room is ready. I would just pack a day bag with anything you may need for the first half of the day.

This is what I thought. Thanks.

It was several years ago now, but we had a morning arrival and thought we'd just check our bags and hang by the pool -- but they refused until 3pm check-in time. This was the LaQuinta Inn Cocoa Beach (NOT the "Oceanfront" location). It was new management at the time, and maybe they've changed policy since then. We never went back.

Enjoy your cruise!

Probably will just do a Disney hotel. Was thinking about renting points, but now I am betting my chances of getting a room earlier will be with an actual resort and not a DVC resort. Who knows?

I believe that's correct, based on what I've read. I haven't stayed on points, but many posters indicate DVC rooms aren't typically ready until 4pm or later. However, you can check-in and use the facilities as soon as you arrive. Just not your own room.

Ya, it just varies. The three or four different ones I have stayed in we have gotten in around 2:00, but I believe it has gotten worse now.

Just looked at Touring Plans and it has Pop Century with 1860 standard view rooms. Have a feeling there will be my best chance of getting a room early, as long as I put down first available.
