Any DVC'rs going to D23?

Any fellow DVC'rs heading to CA for the D23 Expo? Make sure you take lots of pics for us stuck back on the East Coast!

We are. We are going for our first DL trip from Sept 5 - Sept 14. For the Expo and DH birthday. We come home for 3 weeks and then we are going on our first DVC vacation from Oct 5 - 22 at SSR. We have some serious vacationing to do in the coming months.

We will take tons of photos on the trips to post. I just have to figure out how to post them.

My DH and I are going ... but weren't planning on taking photos. Maybe I'll rethink that idea and toss a camera with charger and support gear into our travel box.

We were talking about doing it and staying for the opening night of VGC... but not sure we can swing it.

Sure wish the D23 Expo and GCV's Grand Opening had been timed to overlap?? Ah, well -- perhaps it would have created too great a sensory overload

A whole group of us will be there for D23 mainly because of the 40th anniversary HM event. Good timing for a change!

Does D23 have anything planned at WDW? I just joined DVC and D23 last month, so I'm not up on all the events yet.

They have had a couple of "events" around the country including WDW. I believe it was an Illuminations dessert party. I know they had discounted tickets to see Mary Poppins here in Chicago over one weekend, too.

As far as the convention, rumor has it that it will be in California for at least 3-4 years and then possibly be held at WDW.

Yeah. I wish it was gonna overlap. We haven't used any of DH's vaca time this year and have family that would love to see our new baby in Santa Ana... so it would have been a longer trip, but one we could have done to span both events. (But even with our points at VGC... we'd still have to stay with my grandparents for a bit or pony up some serious cash)
