Any drugstore.com or Ulta.com coupons? Question about CHI flat iron

On a total order and not just one item.

I'm looking at a Chi flat iron for a teen, does anyone have experience with the metallic ones? I keep on hearing that the foil peels off within days of first using it. Anyone know if this is still the case? Thanks!

You just missed out on a 20% off entire purchase coupon. I would hold off, there will be more coupons. :)

Not sure about the flat irons, my hair is as straight as an arrow....

Thanks a bunch! Is it pretty often that they have 20% off entire orders?

My grandmother has had a Chi for the past 3 years and bought a new flat iron not too long ago. (She gave the Chi to my household.)

I have used the Chi about 10+ times, I recently got a 'titanium' flat iron from TJ Maxx. (only used it once, can't really talk much about it yet.) My problem with the Chi is that, the one that my grandmother had, there was one temperature and you could not lower the temp if you wanted to. (If you decide to get a Chi, try to get one with adjustable temp.) As far as the "foil" falling off, my grandmother's did not do that. If you don't want to buy an expensive flat iron, such as Chi, I would recommend getting a Hot & Silky flat iron from Sally Beauty Supply Store. I have owned one of these for 4+ years and just recently had a problem of the plate falling off when I dropped it (1 of at least 10 drops). These are not as expensive as the Chi, and have adjustable temperatures. I don't know what type of hair your daughter has, but I have 4A-4B type hair, and prefer the Hot & Silky over the Chi any day.

As for coupons, Ulta always has some type of coupons available. As PP said, I hold out they should have some more good coupons coming soon since the Holidays are coming up.

I bought my first CHI flat iron about 6 years ago, and it was awesome. It lasted until about a year ago. When it died I bought a ghd brand flat iron because that was all the rage for a while. It was more expensive than CHI and I didn't like it as much. So I bought another CHI, and it was not near as good as my old one. It only lasted about 6 months. I didn't have the peeling problem OP mentioned, but the quality of CHI has definitely changed for the worse over the years. I honestly think you could find a much less expensive one that is just as good as a CHI. If you want the absolute best, high quality flat iron it's going to run you $200+. I go to a very high end salon (one of my only splurges) and they say the CHIs are very low quality. They are all now using a type that supposedly adjusts temperature for your hair needs as you run it through your hair (can't remember the brand, sorry).

I recently bought a Chi Ultra from Ulta last September. Not even a month later, the plates were starting to be peel. That's when I learned the ceramic plates are coated, not pure ceramic.

Last month I bought a cheap flat iron from Amazon. It was the HSI professional, it got great reviews on amazon and I paid $40. The plates are not coated and there is a temperature gauge. So far, I am really enjoying it.
