We were going to eat here before heading back to AK one evening. Are park clothes OK?

Yes, they just request no tank tops for men and no swimwear (for anyone!).

Yatchsman is a Disney Signature restaurant and does have a dress code. Basically its no swim wear (swim suits, tank tops, cover ups, etc). Even nice shorts and T-shirts are allowed. That being said, it just feels too nice to me to wear shorts and Ts, so we wear nicer stuff. I wear the same stuff I'd wear to a park, a blouse and capris and my husband usually wears kakis and a collared shirt (sometimes nice jeans)

Thanks for the info!! Since our ADr is for 5:30 pm in Jan I doubt we will be in tank tops or swim suits.

There is a dress code - as others have posted. Sadly, it isn't enforced.

When I made my ADR for May this morning the CM told that Yachtsman has a "very strict dress code." For a moment I thought it had changed, so I listened closely. I hasn't changed, it's still no tank tops, ripped clothing, swim suits. I fail to see how that's a "very strict dress code!" :rotfl: Oh, she may have said "no flip-flops" too, I can't remember.

Thanks for all your replys. I as mainly concerned about jeans being allowed. Hopefully we will have something to wear.

The only rule enforced is the very discriminatory "no hats on for men".
Women wearing tacky baseball hats are not a problem.

I was really suprised at the casual clothes people wear in the restaurants. My first trip, I brought dressy clothes to wear [when we ate dinner] and DH and I did change before going into any restaurant ... but I was definately in the minority. Interesting question OP - I didn't realize that Yachtsman had a dress code myself. Have not made it there yet. The lure of Kona Cafe's filet has kept me eating there instead!

We ate there on our recent trip, and I was a little shocked at the clothing people were wearing. (as I was told about the dress code, and dressed accordingly.) There were kids in beach coverups with suits underneath and one woman whose shorts were so short that her sweatshirt was longer than her shorts. (well, I assume she had on shorts under there.) The majority of the people that I saw looked to be within the guidelines, though.

The food there is DIVINE, my favorite of the whole trip, and top-notch service.

When DH and I were the in July 2007, everyone appeared to be at least TRYING to be dressed properly. I was expecting it to be more casual, and happily, I was wrong. I loved to get dressed for dinner, especially at YSH :goodvibes
