Honestly, the water shouldn't of been on the table to begin with and handled off on the sidelines. The stories coming out of this Olympics has been nothing but a hot mess.

Sorry, at the pace that they run it is much easier for them to grab themselves than to take a hand-off from a person gripping/holding the bottle.

These guys are flying. Even slowed down to grab water, they are still running 6 minute miles.

Every race I've ever run -- from 5 K to 26.2 mile marathon -- has had similar water tables. Runners don't stop to drink.

I have run in many marathons, hot and cold. I have no doubt that it was an accident. Runners are not like this. We are a very tight community, and doing something like this on purpose would follow him forever.

He did not negatively impact anyone in the race. This is much ado about nothing.

Hot, muggy marathon. Thirty olympic runners had already withdrawn. Two-thirds into the race, the French guy wipes out water station for the competition, tho he managed to snag the last bottle.

Of all the good-sportsmanship stories coming out of the Olympics, this sure wasn't one of them.

No one on this board knows what his motivation was, and I take an issue with everyone immediately vilifying him because of what they believe happened. I choose to believe people are good rather than always have malicious intentions.
