DH and I are having a baby girl in July. We found out we were pregnant the day after we returned from WDW last November. Now that we are trying to decide what to name her, I have been thinking ALOT about names. So I am curious...has anyone used a Disney name for their kids? DH would probably name her Aurora Belle Jasmine if I would let him! The closest I was going to go was to use Ella (Cinderella) but DH actually vetoed that one!

LOL
I tried to name DS Anakin or at least Luke, but DH wouldn't let me. He says only pets and stuffed animals should be named after fictional characters. :rotfl:

Which in our house has been true. We have a cat named Rumpleteazer and we used to have a cat named Buttercup (after Princess Buttercup in the Princess Bride). I also at one point had pet rats named Nicodemus and Justin (after characters from The Secret of NIMH).

We have discussed using Aurora Isabelle... which is kinda two... but not for a boy. :)

However, there are some great obscure character names too. I know there was a thread on that at some point.

I agree with your dh- pets and stuffed animals... However, my dh would agree with you and you could have a whole clan of star wars babies!!! :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

When we went to our ultrasound my mom came with us. As soon as they said its a girl my DH said welcome Hailey. My mom instantly said like Hailey Mills I love it! I honestly never thought of it being related to Disney until she said that.

I havent named any children after any disney characters, but I once had a dwarf rabbit that I named Minnie Mouse.. :goodvibes

I don't have kids yet, we aren't even pregnant yet. But, I have already learned a very good lesson. I once told a few people that I liked the name Stella Katharine. EVERYONE had a freaking opinion about it- usually not a good one :rotfl: One friend even said it sounded like a fat girl's name!

Since then, my dh and I have picked names for our future children, and we will tell no one!!!

So, I would say, if you are thinking of picking a Disney name and really want to do that- go for it- it's your kid. But don't tell anyone you know!

Stella makes me think of Angela what's-her-face in "Stella Got Her Groove Back". :scratchin:

Who I can assure you looks nothing like me!!!

But see- mention a name and someone has an opinion. I'm guilty too. My sis once had her heart set on the name Arabella- I said oooohh- yeah, isn't that the name of a bathroom airfreshener?

My DD's name is Haylee, never thought of it being connected to Disney. :)

That being said, I wouldn't intentionally name my child a Disney name. My dogs names are Jasmine and Bella though. Didn't like Belle and anyway I wanted to name DD Bella instead of Haylee and DH said no way. So now the dog is and he still thinks its a stupid name.

Well, DH and I had joked that our son would be Chewbacca and our daughter would be Tinker Bell. This was after we told relatives the names we had chosen (Chase and Erika) and we got all sorts of opinions. So we were like, "Let's really throw 'em and call them Chewie :chewy: and Tink :tink: !"

I don't have any kids but how about Sydney. Its Disney with the letters mixed up but with a y instead of an i.

My niece is named Minnie as in well of course Minnie Mouse!

My older son's name is Sebastian, but it's not after the crab/lobster. He would have been Hayley (after Hayley Mills) if he was a girl. But, that one didn't have the "disney" connection. I just really liked the name.

Arabella is actually the name of one of the chars in OOTP. Well, alright she's mentioned throughout the entire HP series up till then, but it's only in OOTP that you find out her full name is Arabella Figg. :duck:
