Any Dis'ers in Minneapolis? Transit question

heading to Minneapolis tomorrow and staying downtown near the convention center. I get in at around 9:30am and my meeting doesnt start until 7:30pm that evening.

How is the light rail system there? Would you suggest taking light rail into downtown? How about stopping at Mall of America first then taking the light rail into town?

Just curious about mass transit there or would I be better off taking a cab or shuttle?

Light rail from the airport to Mall of America and downtown works very well.

Depending on how much luggage you have, you may want to consider a cab from the downtown light rail stop to your hotel. The convention center is several blocks from the nearest light rail stop!

You can walk to a lot of places (not MOA), from the convention center, and if its cold you can use the skyways. There is a great little Irish restaurant straight down the street and Caribou Coffee is always great. You can walk to a mall, which I can't remember the name of, in about 10 minutes and it has an awesome Barnes and Noble.

Some hotels offer a shuttle to the MOA. I'd go with that first.

Or take the hotel shuttle to your hotel, drop off your stuff then take the light rail to MOA. I think a round trip on the light rail during non-rush hour traffic is a couple dollars.
