Does anyone know if there are any discounts available for March? We will be going from the 17-20.(I'm new to Disney and didn't realize that was Peak season when my husband requested vacation and it's too late to change it now.) I was quoted at $2226 at WL woods view for 3 nights w/dining and hoppers. Then I called right back to ask a different question and the lady offered to break the package down so I knew how much was the hotel, tickets, etc. She quoted me $2492 for the same time with a standard view. She said I did have a discount tagged to my email, but it ends in Feb.) I don't want any discount I'm not entitled to, but I don't want to get ripped off either. I have the most horrible luck with these types of things and would hate to pay the full price only to find out there was something to discount it. Does AAA discount work on all rooms or is there a limited amount at each hotel at a time?

We'll be there then too but we check in on the 13th. I thought it was early but after what I'm seeing for air availability it must truly be peak season.
There is a peak season/late march code for annual passholders during that time but not sure if WL has AP availability.
You'd have to buy at least one annual pass and you wouldn't be able to get the dining plan but given peak season rates it might well still be worth it.
You could find out by calling and asking for passholder (AP) availability for that time period. That'd give you an idea of the possible savings, if any.
Our high school is performing and many of the parents are going down seperately on AP rates that week.

There were discounts for that time but you had to book by December 16th, I think. It was the free upgraded park tickets an a slight room discount.
They have this offer out now for the second time but now March is not available.
So March may be tough at this point to get a discount.
I thought there where some AP discounts for a while in March.

Have you considered a less expensive resort?
You could go to a Mod or a value at that price for 5 days instead of 3??

Good luck

I should have started planning earlier. My husband got transferred last July and we finally sold our old house this month. The trip was not an option until that happened. We will probably do a Value if I can't find any discounts on the deluxe. We really wanted the queen beds and a little more room since it is 4 plus a crib. Oh well. Live and learn.

Maybe you could get one of the new Family Suites at the ASMU.
They have a queen bed in one room and a twin and double in the other room.
I think they may run less that a deluxe resort.

Lots of pictures of them on the site if you do a search.

I did look at the suites. I just can't bring myself to pay that much for a value hotel. They do look really nice, though. I just wish I would have reserved with the first quote I got. I did not say one word about a discount. I just told her what I needed in the package. I wish I knew where she came up with those numbers. We'll probably save some money and go to Pop. Since it's our first time there I don't know how much time we'll spend in the resort. My husband keeps telling me to have realistic expectations and remember that the kids are not going to make it open to close no matter how much I will them too.:)

I just checked your dates out of curiosity (heck, I'm always ready to swap resorts myself if a better deal comes along!)
Using the passholder discount for peak season, a WL woods view was $739.14

I didn't see your children's ages but assuming two adults and 1 child from 3-9, + the baby; I added another $462 for one AP, 215 for 1 Adult 4 day base pass, & 179. for the child's 4 day for a total of 1593 at the WL w/o DDP.
BUT... if your present package is $2500+, that's nearly 1,000 left for 4 days of meals and possibly another child's pass that I don't know about. Our family of 5 with 2 teens could still eat very well on that.
If $$ are an issue I'd much rather cut out DDP and sacrifice a character meal or two if neccessary to stay somewhere more convienent to the park -- thereby maximizing my time and energy.

CR was also available with AP for the same dates at $891.00.

Your statement that the children won't be spending all their time in the parks would say to me that you need a deluxe resort so you're not wasting the few valuable hours of your short trip on busses back and forth. The nicer deluxe hotel pools are a plus too for kids.

That sidewalk from CR to MK is priceless at the end of the day when you're tired and the kids are cranky - OR - when you're cranky and the kids are tired... :rolleyes2
Likewise, the water taxi from WL to MK could also feel like a gift from God at the end of the day as you look at the bus stop lines...

The value resort might save you a few dollars but it's such a short visit anyway, why waste more time than needed waiting at the bus stop and squeezing around that crib in the room (been there, done that - those value rooms are TINY after you add a crib, stroller and assorted gear/clothes/toys - count this ol' girl in for deluxe whenever even remotely possible now...)
