Any Discounts for the Home Away from Home Resorts?

Are there ever discounts avaiable for any of the Home Away from Home Resorts? For example a 1 bedroom unit at OKW or BW villas?

We are associate members on my DVC membership with parents and siblings and just came back from BWV.

My children of course want to go back (as do my husband and I) and are not sure if any points will be available to us for use next year....

I was shocked at the nightly rate at these resorts so was curious if any discounts come out...we will probably go again next June/July 2004.....

If not looking into the possibility of renting DVC points...Thanks

OKW 1 bedroom was $270 AP rate plus tax in May. About 30% off.

If I am looking for June/July next year...when should I look for any discounts?

We use to be Disney Club members but that is discontinuing in Dec....would AAA have the best rate?

The AP rates for this year during late April - July 4th didn't come out until April. AAA would probably only be 10% off during that time.

I would look into renting points. I didn't do it because I wanted it for Friday and Saturday nights, renting isn't worth it for weekend nights (48 points per night x $10 = $480, rack is $385).

Have you ever rented points? Any success...I would be looking to rent the points for a Sunday-Friday stay (5 nights...lower point values) and either add on days before or after at a resort....
