We are leaving on the first SWA flight out of MCO on our departure day. To make things easier, we are considering staying at the Hyatt inside MCO and then just getting up, going downstairs and heading to our gate.

Does anyone know of any good discount deals (other than AAA) for the Hyatt? Best I have been able to find is about $159/night using my AAA discount.

Any other suggestions?

I don't really know of any discount but can say that we "used" Hyatt this past April after departing a cruise and had hours before a SW flight home. We got one room for day rate (I think it was like $90) used pool and had room to sleep, relax etc. Hotel is actually quite lovely and you did not even feel like you were at airport while at their roof top pool. (we had 8 people who just split up cost, of course not telling Hyatt that, LOL)
I personally would consider it if my flight was very early AM since ME is often 2-3 hours before departure time. Also consider if I was staying at a moderate or above at Disney and cost was about same. I mean if I had a $70 value room not sure I'd splurge at 160 just to be closer.
Good luck with your decision.

Sorry no discount, but I sure would be interested if you find one.

We stayed our last night last spring with a 7:00 am departure the next morning. It was a great and even at the rate was worth it, (think we paid $189 AAA rate). Didn't have to deal with dropping the car off in the morning, kids really enjoyed the pool, and got an extra hour or so sleep in the morning. I am already pricing for next April to stay again.

Again all I have seen is the AAA discount. I have read that a number of people have used hotwire & priceline, but don't think I am willing to take the risk, I want the Hyatt or nothing.

Might want to take the chance and try Hotwire.....I've never used it, but, there is another post somewhere on these boards regarding Hotwire/Hyatt/MCO. As a matter of fact, we're meeting relatives in January whose flight from the West Coast doesn't get in until shortly after midnight......I know they've used Hotwire in the past.......I may suggest this to them rather than getting their rental car and driving to the resort to check-in that late.

Wow never heard of a day rate? Did they offer that to you or did you know to ask?

I found a thread over on the DCL forum. One of the posters mentioned a Hyatt Stay Certificate which is still available. You can purchase a cert for $135 plus $6 shipping. the cert is good for one night stay at selected Hyatt's, MCO included.

This is a better rate than AAA. You could do a name your own, but there is no guarantee you would get the Hyatt MCO.

While I know the other choices aren't the Hyatt, bidding on a 3* hotel through Priceline at MCO puts you just a short shuttle ride away. You can still return the car and get more rest than returning form Disney on an early departure (or late arrival) day

WOW!
Thanks for the link, I have already bookmarked it for future possible stay. especially with cruises out of fla.

To OP: I found out about Day rate on the cruisecritic board for our recent cruise, ABSOLUTELY invaluable info from another group of great people just like here on the DIS!

The $135 certificate won't work for me since our Hyatt/MCO stay is on a Saturday. It looks like the level I would have to buy (the Premier Level/PS certifiicate of $165 + shipping) basically equals the AAA price.

Just found out that the AAA rate is supposed to include breakfast for two & am checking on that now. It would be nice to get a complimentary breakfast to go in the morning.

Update... Just got off the phone with Hyatt Rservations - the AAA rate does include breakfast (what a nice surprise!)
You can find the code for it if you take a look at the Hyatt website.

agnes!

I used Hotwire last week to book the MCO Hyatt for a pre-cruise night in Feb. '09. I got it for $83, others posted that they got it as low as $79 in the same timeframe. It is listed on Hotwire as a 4*, there are other 4*s, so you have to look at the info it lists from Trip Advisor - the Hyatt is 4 1/2 circles with 80+ reviews, the other Hotwire 4* usually shows TA info as 3 1/2 circles and 20+ reviews.

Good luck.

I used this same TA advice when booking the Hyatt last Sept for only $59/nt + tax. It's so convenient you can't beat it!

It's not showing on a HW search for our Nov. cruise but my parents will be with us so we can get 2 rooms at the senior rate of $129 + tax. Great rate considering it's the Fri nite before Thanksgiving week.

I used hotwire and got the HYATT MCO for $66 in May, it was so easy and so NICE!

The certificates are good for any night of the week including Sat. We are using ours on a Sat night.

Hyatt Stay Certificates

Are these purchaser specific?

I am planning/organizing a trip for a friend, and want to get one of these to book a room for them at MCO. Does the reservation have to be in the same name as the person that orders/receives the certificate?

Thanks!
