Have any of you designers heard of the Gimp? GNU Image Manipulation Program...
I went to check our local used bookstore that carries books, CD's, Video games etc- and found they no longer carry used software due to the fact that many of them may no longer be used more than once or be sold w/o license, etc- Anyway, the girl there told me I should check out the Gimp- She does all of their Marketing Ads and Flyers with it and I will say she has some pretty cool ads- She has been using it for years as well as two of their other stores -
I checked it out - Here is the link>>>>
http://www.gimp.org/
It is very much like PSP, PI, etc and is completely FREE- ALL the time- There are also a lot of tuts on using it and even a "community" for other helps & tips that may be needed-
I am becoming very familiar with PI but if you check this out you will see that between PSP & PI at least the screens and functions are all very much the same- Your design can be saved as any type of file as well and also saves as a Gimp File too- (not sure what that file is called) Anyway, so all layers are saved seperate so you can still edit afterwards-
Anyone who has heard of it- let me know- I may try to play around with it as well- Hey FREE is always a great way to learn something- Oh! & it is based off of Linux so can be used on any Windows supported system - also some Macs can also use-
Thx for any input...
