Any Curves members out there?

Hi! I'm a 2 year Curves member who had great success the first year, had surgery and gained to MORE than what I was when I originally started. Today was my second day back since before the holidays. I am determined to get back in shape for spring and summer! Any other circuit girls out there?

I'm a curves gal [just completed my 2d month on the circuit]. I was happy to see a curves thread here...

So far, I'm not seeing much weight loss [3lbs], but I lost 6.25 inches. I am just about ready to add in a diet component now that I have the exercise habit in place.

OP: I feel for you. I know that I have yo-yo'd along the way and almost feel like "why do I even bother" when I'm worse than if I'd not done anything. It is so frustrating! Hang in there! It will get better...
 

I just posted a thread asking question on curves. I too am thinking of joining. I tried it out today-wow it was hard. I would like to really tone up, lose weight - my butt, legs and middle. Begiining of march is free to join so I am thinking of it, but hate to sign a one year membership.
 
Are they still doing a promotion for joining????:confused3 I would love to join but would like to see the additional fees waived..
 
They are doing a promo where they will waive the entry fee if you buy a bag of groceries for the food bank -- about $90 -- through the end of the month here. I believe it is a nationwide promo.

I love curves... it is great for toning. Like others said... I haven't lost a ton of weight but i am firming up.

The only thing I disagree with is that thye say 30 minutes 3 times a week, I don't think that is enough... I think you need to be doing something the other days or go more often. An hour and 1/2 a week IMHO would take forever to see the results.
 
When you join curves, are you allowed to go as many times per week as you like? Also, do they offer anything else besided "the circuit"?
 
I've just finished my 3 month mark, I've been going an average of 3x....so far I've lost 11 inches and improved both my BMI and Body Fat percentages. I have to say that my results have accelerated after scaling back from 5x to 3x per week. Granted I don't burn the calories everyday, but I do work out "better" as I've had a recovery day. I am contemplating adding in some power walking on my days "off" to keep the movement/calorie burn but still let the muscles recover.

Over all, I feel great. My energy has improved significantly and I am really able to run around outside with my DS-3...it used to wind me in no time.

Anyone else care to share results?
 
I've been going to curves for 3 years now. I don't have a lot of weight to lose but really needed toning. The first 6 months I lost 16 inches and 5 pounds. I've keep that wt loss and have started walking as well as going to curves. I usually go 4 times a week. In between machines on the pads I do squats, lunges and planks. Once a week we have an hour long boot camp on a floor mat, we work on abs, arms (weights) and bottom. It's really a good workout.

We now have a man working out at our curves. He's a nice older man, just seemed wierd at first!!
 
Don't ask me what has possessed me but I have decided to loose weight and try and quit smoking at the same time :confused3 ;) :confused3

I am going to curves today since it is the last day for the donate groceries and they waive the initial fee. I would love to talk to some of you other women who are doing this... so that maybe we could encourage one another. Turned fifty last month and would really like to drop thirty pounds and get myself in shape.

The real motivator was a picture taken of me... I was thinking... how did I get old and fat???!!! :rolleyes1

So maybe.... if we all check in with one another say once a week... any day is good for me... we could all help each other!

I am heading there now... I have been a little bad this week the girls were on spring break and I haven't gone at all.... got get 30 minutes in today.

And don't worry about getting old... we can't do anything about that and it is better than the alternative :lmao: but you will get in shape with curves... they will measure you today and then every month the computer will remind you to measure.

I ignored the computer this month... I just got back from vacation and didn't want that in my permanent file ;)
