Last time I cruised I did all the shore excursions and after each one regretted it... we would get back hot and tired and just wish we had stayed onboard and relaxed by the pools.. etc...

Anyone every sail for a week and STAY on the ship for the whole time?

No, I would always get off of on Castaway Cay. :)

But I have done 3- and 4-night cruises and never got off in Nassau.

When we did our three-peat on the Wonder last fall, we never bothered to get off in Nassau. It's so much nicer to stay on the ship and pretend that it's a day at sea :D :D :D

We are thinking about staying on board at Nassau too. This is our first cruise and it will just be me and my husband. None of the excursions sound that thrilling to us, so we thought that we might just stay onboard. Is there any reason that we should get off for a short time just to look around the island? The one thing that I did see someone mention awhile back is that you can get horse-drawn carriage rides that will tour the city. Has anyone tried this? If so how long was the ride? Any info would be greatly appreciated. We did a carriage ride while visiting Boston this past fall and really loved it.

I have only cruised one time to date, and enjoyed almost all of our shore excursions (Magic Western). I did, however, want to remain onboard the ship when we arrived BACK at Port Canaveral.

I have always refused to get off the ship when we get back to Port Canaveral and the cruise is over. They have to pry my hands from the sliding doors that go out on the verandah.
I know not a very pretty site, a grown man kicking and screaming " I don't want to go ", but hey !!!!

We were on the 1/18 sailing of the Magic (Western) and we didn't get off the ship at Key West. The ship was mostly empty so we saw it as an opportunity to enjoy having the ship practically to ourselves. :) We did the Island Tour & Snorkel With the Stingrays excursion on Grand Cayman and LOVED that, but in Cozumel we just got off for a couple of hours to shop then got right back on. :D
