Aside from being addicted to the DIS - what crafts or hobbies take up your time???

For me, it's photography and scrapbooks. I've documented the past five years of my children's lives and our vacations in scrapbooks. I recently completed my 4th Disney Vacation album, and my latest venture has been two albums documenting all of the newspaper articles and 8 rolls of photos that Bobby brought home from 6 months in Iraq.

I never realized that a hobby could become sooooooo addicting!!!;)

...but it's a good addiction and something that my family really appreciates. :D

I do cross stitch, beading and Christmas crafts. Since I teach school I have started on my Christmas stuff already which drives my DH crazy. You would think that after 11 years he would be use to it.

I cross stitched for 20 years!!!! My home is full of years of framed projects. Once I found scrapbooking, my little cross stitching stash started gathering dust. :( I pick it up every now and then, but it's just not like it used to be.

Another scrapbooker here. I too am totally addicted to my craft. I will plan my week around sales at my local scrapping store or AC Moore ;)

Cross stitch, photography, cross stitch, quilting, cross stitch, writing, cross stitch, reading, cross stitch, web design, cross stitch, my kitties, and oh... did I mention cross stitch?

:teeth:

Another scrapbooker here! I am totally addicted to this hobby. I also love the the photography side of it. I take pictures all the time, I have so many pics of Ashli and David and well, anyone else that comes close enough to either one of them to get a picture together, lol.

On a funny note, Although I take pics of Ashli with every guy she dates over once or twice I don't usually include them in the scrapbook unless the relationship is getting serious because Ashli will want me to take them out after they break up. I finally made a "10 year" rule. I let Ashli decide if she wants them in her scrapbook (that I'm making for her) but once they are in they stay there for 10 years, lol. Then if she still wants me to take them out I will. Titus must have noticed something was up with my scrapbooks and that issue because the first time he saw a page that he was in he threw up his hands and yelled "Yeah, I'm in the scrapbook!"

eek, double post, sorry

I love to glass etch, esp. Mickey stuff. I just recently turned it into a semi-profitable hobby thanks to eBay! :p

Scrapbooking: I have the most fun with my Disney albums. We got back from our trip in December and I had the album done by mid January (working whole days sometimes, of course -- we had over 600 pictures:D . Of course, I was a year behind on the family album, which I'm almost catching up on this summer. It's the end of June and I only have to scrap the rolls since Easter.

Reading: mostly children's lit since that what I've been studying. Just finished Potter at 2:00 a.m. this morning.

Family web pages: I'm so behind!

Ebaying: mostly selling this summer since I'm not teaching, but ti's SO hard not to shop!

Friendship bracelets: Does anyone still make these? My daughter discovered I could do it and the only "jewlry" she can wear at gymnastics are these things, so we've gone out and bought lots of embroidering floss and I sit in front of the T.V. or at her practices making them. I guess being a gym mom should count since I'm with my kids at the place about 10 hours a week!

Baseball mom (to go with gym mom) althought the season is pretty much over now, except for baseball camps.

I know there are more, but these are what keep me busy right now

:smooth:

I love to do computer stuff like Flash for websites and build computers. I also love to do photography & build model cars.

Let's see: Reading, cross stitch, scrapbooking, crocheting.

DemonLlama -- I used to *love* making those friendship bracelets, but I've forgotten how to do them it's been so long. :(

I've also turned my scrapbooking into a profitable EBay business. I do lots of paper piecings and titles and have built up quite a little side business and have lots of repeat buyers - especially with my Disney stuff. You know, there's just "something" about us Disney people.;)

The only problem I'm finding is that now my EBay orders are cutting into my own scrapbooking time. :(

Saturday night, we're doing a "Welcome Back from Iraq" Open House for our son, and the two scrapbooks (I've worked on since January), documenting his days will be on display. I can just see him someday, surrounded by his grandchildren (hopefully) and telling them the stories from his scrapbook. ;)

cd burning,my collection of sci fi and movie goodies and old movies

well I don't have alot of talent in crafting but have been dabbling in wooden lawn art ( disney and some others for holidays) but at least it passes the time away when hubby is 3-11...and keeps me out of trouble hehe....they range in size from bit over 2 ft tall to bit over 4 ft tall.
.if you would like to take a peek at my feeble attempts http://photos.yahoo.com/disfan53

Those are BEAUTIFUL MouseFan!!!!

Have you had success selling them?? You should have a busy little side business going there!

no never made any to sell, this was just something I started a few years back for my own personal use ,and really don't think that I am good enough to even think about selling them, let alone getting into the copyright stuff. I just have a big yard and just wanted something different for holidays ( at least folks don't have a hard time finding my house) . started with halloween ( don't have pics of those yet,(didn't have digital cam then) then easter , and then started on Disney over this past winter. Can be expensive with the wood( especially for the bigger pieces) and would imagine mailing would be a nightmare. ( don't know never tried) have a few more already drawn up and guides made up on paper , (101 dalmations, pooh, ) working on some others but with the weather being nicer would rather be outside enjoying it...

Cross stitch and buying scrapbook supplies. Apparently, for me, the buying is more fun than the making because I've completed less than two pages.

Oh yes Donna - collecting the scrapbook supplies is just as big as doing the actual work. ;)

My husband takes one look at my scrapbook room and says, "We could make a house payment with what you have here"....and my reply is, "yes dear - probably two of them".

He usually doesn't say much more after that.;)

I'm working on a new project:film reviews on a movie message board I'm on
