Any coupons (other than Entertainment book) good in Oct/Nov for car rental?

Hi,

I'm specifically talking about National Rental Car.

I can't book my car for our Oct/Nov trip yet because I can't find any coupons good for that timeframe.

I do not want to have to buy the Entertainment book just for this rental.

I tried BJ's but they expire the end of August.

Anyone have any other ideas of any coupons out there?

Thanks!

Thanks but Mousesavers has no National coupons that are good through December that I can use.

Thanks anyway.

I'm in the same boat as you, renting 10 days beginning 11/30. Right now, my best minivan is just shy of $400 (including tax) from National, and I'm okay with that. Weekly is fine, but it's the 3 extra days that are killing me.

Well, I can tell you I have the entertainment book and I am using the $20 off coupon - and that's probably the best coupon you are going to get, other than maybe a free weekend day.

You'll have to wait for product codes until closer to the time. Usually stuff like that will come out for Vacation Outlet in June and some product codes may appear on the National website in August/September.

This is who I booked through: Dollar

This is what I used: KISS3

This is what I booked: minivan

This is the rate I got: $288

These are my travel dates: 10/23-30

This is where I got the code: www.mousesavers.com

But I also have used www.rentalcodes.com

I looked at my National Ent. coupons for this year and they expire December 31st. Why couldn't you use them for your trip?

I get the entertainment book every year for christmas from my mom. Maybe you could let a family member know you'd like one as an EARLY Christmas gift. They are usually availble as early as September. ::yes::

Because this year, I didn't really need the Entertainment book for anything else and it seems like a waste to buy the book for $20 just for the coupon.

I guess I could book the car now (if I had the code) and then wait a few months to buy the book...till it's clearance price because the 2005 books are coming out!

Thanks anyway!

You can buy the 2004 Entertainment Book thru MouserSavers.com - Entertainment Book and get $10 off plus free shipping. I did this just to get the National $20 off coupon. For $15, the coupon will save me $23+ when I factor in all the taxes. I'll probably end up using some of the other coupons as well, which makes it an even bigger savings.

If you checkout the Entertainment.com website, they do list the coupon code and contract id # for National. I think the offers include one free weekend day and a 2 car-class upgrade. You can always plug those numbers in to make your ressie and then order the book to get the coupon.

I hope this was of some help.

Would you want me to mail you an entertainment coupon?
Let me know.

Thanks,
Kim

I feel your pain. I have a trip in October/Nov. and haven't found any coupon to apply yet. Also, the entertainment book doesn't help me either, because the car coupons are the only ones I used last year, so I barely broke even. There's not an entertainment book for my area, and the closest locations that participate are not local to us or even close.

All you can do is book a rate that you're comfortable with (probably the carlson code) and hope you can apply the coupon to your existing reservation when you get one. I was able to apply a coupon last year to an existing reservation without it changing me base rate. I was surprised.

There are presently so many coupons to choose from and BJs seem to be the best, so am hoping that another ones is released when that one expires the end of summer. Plus keep an eye on the boards in case National starts dropping. Sometimes that happens as your trip gets closer and that's what I'm hoping for!!
