My amazing boyfriend and I are doing the Spring 2010 CP together  and we want to know if any other couples are going down there too??

I wish. When I do Fall '10, my boyfriend expects to be deployed to Afghanistan :(

My boyfriend and I are planning on applying together for fall 2010 and spring 2011 if we're not accepted in the first go! I'm glad to find someone else who's doing this! are you living in disney housing? i'm assuming they don't allow couples to live together....is that an option at all?

I'm sorry to hear about your situation Melinda. That must be extremely tough and I give you a lot of credit for dealing with that.

As far as couples doing the CP, I got in, my boyfriend got a pending so hopefully everything goes well.

I'm going to apply for a PI for next June and my boyfriend is going to apply for Fall Advantage! :)

As far as I know, they don't allow unmarried couples to live together, but they apparently do let married couples live together (which makes sense). I knew a few married couples on my last program, and they all lived with their spouses.

No, my bf is staying at school :sad2: ...he's never even BEEN to Disney!

I told him "I'm going to Disney!!!" when I got in...

Then I go..."You're going to have the BEST SPRING BREAK EVER!......YOU'RE going to Disney World too!!!"

But that's a month and a half+ into the program...and I will probably will be working most of the week...*sigh*

We do long distance during the summer time...if we can do it for 2 summers, we can do it for a semester..................:sad1:

No I wish they let couples live together- my boyfriend and I have been going out for 3 years and we have been looking at places here at home- but then we decided to do the CP as our one last hurrah before we settle down and get real jobs lol
we really wish they would let us live together...

they let married couples live together? hmm.... lol

As far as I know, yeah, if you have the paperwork to prove it. One of the couples I knew on my last CP actually just had their first baby a few weeks ago (so cute!). I knew two married couples who lived with their spouses, and they knew a few other people. I don't see why Disney would separate a married couple, to be honest. I don't know what the apartment situation is like, but as far as I know, they do allow married couples to live together.

that's cool. I wonder how my bf feels about eloping... :lmao:
haha that would be nice but I don't see us getting married in 3 months just so we can live together on the CP...

Oh man thats not cool :sad1:
what will he be doing there?
He's an Army Officer and works in logistics. He basically gets people and supplies where they need to go.

Thanks everyone else. Disney being a distraction was exactly what I was thinking! I'm really excited for it :)

I'm happy (and jealous :P) of all the couples that are doing this together! It will be amazing sharing it with your special someone

Yep - married couples live together. My husband and I did the Fall Advantage 2006 CP and had a blast. We had to bring our marriage certificate and show them and then we got a one bedroom unit in Chatham. The only downside was that they don't change around the furniture for married couples so we had to sleep on two twin beds pushed together:laughing:

Disney is definitely a good distraction! :)
you and your boyfriend should just apply now and do the spring together before he has to go ;)

I am currently down with my fiance.
We live separately in the same complex, which is odd seeing how we have lived together for the last 3 years (we've been together for almost 9 years now). The thought of pushing forward our plans to get married to live together crossed our minds but we decided against it and I am glad we did. We both lucked out and have great room mates.
Doing the program as a couple is stressful but fun. I work at Magic Kingdom and Jake is at Animal Kingdom so our hours are the exact opposite but we make it work.

I wish we could! Besides the fact that he already graduated last May and I'm graduating this May (and don't want to postpone) he has to go where the Army tells him to go. I don't think the Disney CP would help the military defend national security :p

It has honestly crossed my mind to ask my bf to come with me...but I couldn't do that to him...he's an engineer with a strict schedule and someone who doesn't (yet) know the magic of Disney (like I said, he's never even been...and he's 21!). Just sometimes I sit around and think...ugh...long distance...AGAIN...for longer. I get a little sad and even though I know I'll be so busy at the CP...I don't want to have to miss him...*sigh*:sad2:

I didn't read the whole thread, but wanted to wish you good luck with your situation, Melinda! It's cute that so many couples are able to do the CP together! I'm sure that it's a great bonding experience for them.

I'm applying for Fall 2010 (graduating this May, so it's the only time I could go). I mentioned to my boyfriend Rob that maybe he could go too, but he's planning on finishing up his degree and graduating in Dec. 2010. So I'm definitely in favor of that! :thumbsup2 The worst part to me will be the distance. We've been together for over four years but for the past year and a half we've been living about an hour and a half apart, and we see each other maybe once or twice a month. But if I get into the CP obviously I can't be traveling back home, and he lives about 7 hours away from Orlando and goes to school full-time so he can't come see me too much either. But it's not a horribly long time and hopefully we can make it. I'm optimistic that with the CP discounts, he'll be able to make at least one longer trip to see me. Maybe right after he graduates in early Dec. he'll be able to visit for a few days before the Holiday season at Disney really kicks in.
