Any Comfy beds in Disney?

Out of the 5 DVC resorts in Orlando, which ones (and which type of room) have the comfiest beds (in your opinion)?

I stayed at SSR a few weeks ago in both a 1 bedroom and a studio (after frances cancelled our flights). I found that the studio bed was more comfortable than the 1 bedroom one. I was wondering, though, if other resorts had more comfortable beds because SSR beds were too new.

(sounds like I want to sleep in "used" beds, doesn't it? :) )

Any thoughts?

I've stayed at OKW several time and each time have loved the beds. I've never stayed in a studio though, always a one or two bedroom suite. Both the bed in the master bedroom and the beds in the second bedroom were very comfortable. The couch, not so much. Hope this helps!

:) Funny you say OKW has comfy beds...I stayed there earlier in the year and never thought I'd go back cause at the time, I wasn't a DVC member. Now that I am, i've kinda put OKW as the last resort i'd go to again only because I want to be able to step outside our room and be able to do something (like boardwalk, BCV, even SSR)

(no offense for those who love OKW...that resort is awfully beautiful).

Any other suggestions?

The best beds in disney..lol..they are at the Swan and dolphin.

The Polynesian has very comfortable beds I think.

The last time we were at BCV, the king mattress was not very good but we had just moved from the Polynesian and it suffered by comparison. This trip we're doing BCV first and then the Polynesian.::yes::

We were at the GF this July. Pillowtop mattresses were arriving. I don't know which building was getting them first but those will probably be great. The current GF mattresses were comfortable too.

YES I MUST AGREE!! S/D beds RULE!!

We've stayed at almost every resort over the years and the S/D has topped them all with their sweet sleepers and heavenly beds...hands down!! We have no desire to stay anywhere else anymore:tongue:

Sorry it's not a DVC resort:(

KM2000 no offense taken. We love OKW because of their beds. It's the only DVC resorts that has 2 queen beds in the second bedroom in all of the villas. It's the only DVC resort we stay at now and we've been members since DVC started in 1991. My kids HATED the sofas. They love to each have their own queen size bed and bathroom. We have stayed there numerous times over the years and have found all the beds to be comfy. Actually, we've stayed in almost all of the Disney resorts at one time or another and we've found all the beds to be comfy. I will say that th mods and values only have double beds. We are all "small-sized" people, but don't have double beds at home so we don't find them comfy on vacation. Again IMHO all the beds (NOT SOFAS) in all the DVC resorts are comfy.

I don't know about the DVC. We were at the GF last month and they had the best beds I've slept in. We have to buy a new bed in a few months, now I know what to buy - Stearns & Foster pillowtop.:bounce:

Comfy is subjective. I like a firm mattress but others like theirs to be like to sink into theirs... same goes for pillows. Are you a firm or soft mattress kind of person? Maybe that would help narrow the search.

I prefer a firmer mattress and pillow and I always thought the beds at the Poly were very comfortable ..... :cloud9:

The heavenly beds at the Swan almost make me want to trade in my water bed at home for one of their beds.

I agree--GF beds were absolutely heavenly. IMO--more heavenly than the Swan and Dolphin Heavenly Bed. Are the beds at GF Stearns and Foster? If so, that's the next mattress I'm getting. DH and I love our bed at home but we certainly do miss the GF bed. Now if only they had 600 thread count sheets...

I have tried the GF, CR, Polynesian, CBR, in the past 3 years and my vote goes to the Swan/Dolphin - our stay at the Swan last summer won me over for good - very heavenly indeed!

The Westin Heavenly bed. Loved the one at La Cantera! (San Antonio)

But who's going to be sleeping anyway!?

We are so tired at night that we find all the beds to be great! I have the double pillow top at home which is wonderful but the Poly mattresses feel just as good after a long day.

I agree, the new pillowtop beds at the Grand were wonderful!

It seems like i've gotta stay at the GF to really get a good nights sleep :)

I prefer a mattress that you kind of sink into...kinda like the pillow top ones at GF, so I hear :)

Oh well...maybe i'll pack egg crates on my next trip ;)

Thanks everyone for your replies!

If you have to have THE most comfortable bed you are probably making a mistake ;)

The Westin (in WDW it's the Dolphin) has the heavenly bed that is quite heavenly. Here's the information on it.

Westin Site Index <<click on heavenly bed and read about it.

Visit a local Westin to you and ask to visit a bed <<< grin >>>

Now if you're just wanting to stay in the Grand Floridian then go for it! Just don't assume it's got the most comfy beds.

hth!
