Just wondering if any CMs know if this is possible to do or if it is just one of those unfortunate situations where I am not trying to put one over on Disney but won't be able to do anymore b/c of changes to curb abuse.

One of my sons is a big eater and an adventurous eater as well. he will try just about anything once! We are debating adding the dining plan to our package for our upcoming trip. We do have at least one situation where one of our DSs, who is under 10, would prefer to order something off of the adult menu. His younger brother would probably share as well. Our cards would say 2A/2C and we would have 2A/2C at the table with us. My question would be is there any way a manager or someone could approve us using 3 adult credits for that meal since we are obviously not treating a non-plan participant? The 3rd meal would be for our kids and I don't mind using an adult credit for them and saving their kids credits for another meal (DH and I will share a couple of times so I'm sure it will all work out somehow). Is there any leeway in situations where the guest is obviously not trying to do anything wrong or are we just stuck with paying OOP for one meal in that situation? I understand the reasoning behind not allowing you to order more meals than your card shows you have guests and I don't want a CM to get in trouble over us. Just wondering if they will be allowing a manager to approve use of an extra credit in situations like this where there is obviously no abuse going on...Mom, Dad and 2 (well, 3 but one is a baby!) kids using a card stating 2A/2C but wanting 3A meals, no kids meals.

Just wondering since I am trying to decide if it is worth it for this trip or not.

Thanks!

No. As of 1/1/07, this is not possible. If you have two adults and two children on the plan, and therefore on your card, you are able to get two adult meals and two child meals per meal.

You may be able to "age up" one of your children, but that means paying for an adult ticket for them and $38.99 per night for the adult DDP.

Or, remember, the Disney Dining Plan isn't for everyone.

I agree, unless you pay for one of your children on the DDP as an adult (paying adult DDP $38.99 and buying an adult ticket--I've heard folks doing this). Unless your card says 3A, they will not let you do 3 adult meals (they did in the past unofficially). You could always pay OOP and supplement the kids meals by adding side items (we do this often). Or pay OOP for an adult entree. (Some times we get soup as one of our appetizers and give it to the nearly 2 years old, and we pay OOP for her meals most other times.) If these are not options, then buffets would be your best bet. Even though a child pays childrens prices at buffets, they are allowed to eat from the entire buffet. Of course, you should ask every server at each place because some are more accommodating then others and don't expect one restraurant to honor items that others do. After doing the DDP for the last 3 trips this year (2006), we do find the rules/guidelines are different at every place you eat.

This is another of the questions that only Disney can answer--
Under the new rules it does not appear that you can do it.
