Any CM's know gate prices on old PH tix?

It looks like Disney's policy regarding credit for unused Park Hopper days is to credit the Disney gate price from the time the old ticket was bought. I'm just wondering if there are any CM's out there who have access to these old gate prices. I'd like to update the WDW Ticket Analyzer to be as accurate as possible, and this info would certainly help.

The best piece of advise is not to trade in an old ticket but use it instead of a newer ticket. That way you still get admission to the parks at a cheaper price.

Thanks for the advice, but that's not always true, that's why I created the ticket analyzer.

Unfortunately there is a new problem, not inherent to old tickets but rather due to the pricing structure of MYW.

The worst thing to do is use up an old ticket and then buy a new ticket of less than ten days for the rest of your vacation!

The best usage of old passes is during vacations of exactly 1, 2, 3, 11, or 12 days*.

Since basing the trade-up value on gate price could be temporary, you still need to arrive at the parks to get the the remaining value of old passes. It is a good idea to be ready to take back the old passes unchanged, step out of line, and think about it before making a final decision. Using the spreadsheet calculator you can establish some thresholds -- if my old pass is worth at least xxx then I will do a trade-up ...

Do we know yet if Disney's policy is that you must buy "like" tickets. For example, the old park hoppers are non-expiring -- I want to buy the hopping option, but do I have to also add non-expiring option to MYW tixs? Having to do that negates appeal in many many cases.

I think others have posted here they did have to buy non-expiring MYW tickets, as the old tickets were also non-expiring.

The old ticket prices are available to CMs, but hard to get from my experience.

What happened to me:
We renewed our FL PAPs December 31. (Our renewal date was a week later.)

DH happened to look at the back of my PAP the next day and noticed I was sold a child's PAP.

Later in the week we went to Guest Services in DTD, paid the extra for an adult FL PAP. I thought I had a corrected PAP.

Later, I noticed my new PAP had in incorrect expiration date. And I realized I was charged the NEW (increased rate).

While my DH was running the marathon a few days later, I went into MK City Hall (where we originally renewed our PAPs) and explained the situation.

The CM was very helpful and corrected my PAP expiration date by issuing me a new pass.
Next, the difficulty of reimbursing me the $17.03 price increase I should not have been charged at DTD Guest Services.

The CM nicely asked another CM what the old price was.
That CM rather wanted to know why.
The CM helping me explained the situation to her.
The other CM's reply -- I don't know.

The CM working with me called someone to get the old ticket price information.
Why did she want that information, they asked?
She had to go through the story again.
They finally gave her the cost from December.

From this experience I figure the old ticket prices appear not to be information CMs can readily access, or is easily given out.

I totally agree. Every situation is different depending on how old the passes are, the price paid for it, Disney's credit policy regarding similar options and price, etc. The spreadsheet allows you to play with the numbers and compare scenarios before you even get to WDW so you don't have to make a rushed, uninformed decision while in line.

Many people on these boards have made generalizations such as "it's always better to use your old park hoppers instead of getting credit". I just don't think that is always true - why not use the spreadsheet and let the numbers decide?

Wow, credits and upgrades must be a real pain for them if they don't have that info readily available. Thanks for posting your experience.

When GR swipes the ticket the only thing that will come up is it's worth for what is left on the ticket--- fine if the ticket has no plusses, or is not an AP, because they they could take the amount remaining, divide it by the amount of days remaining to get the price per day, then multiply that by the original amount of days on the ticket to give them the original price. Rule of thumb... if the ticket is over 1 year old, it is worth much more to you as is, than as credit toward the new tickets. Also, if you have any plusses left, but no park days, they have no value on a trade in, so use them as is. My advice is to use old tickets as is, and start all over with the new MYW when needed.

One question - does what comes up after swiping the ticket include tax? Does Disney include the tax in the credit or no? (I guess that's two questions).
