Hi Guys,
Sis and I live in FL and plan to go to WDW on 2/15 for a few days. We're really hoping that the FL residents' Play 4 Days pass will be available then. Has anyone heard any rumors about when the next one will be offered? I know it's rarely announced ahead of time, but I thought someone might have an inside scoop. Thanks all!

Kate

Hard to say. Disney's history on those tickets is all over the place.

In 2000, they were available from Jan 10 to May 21 and then again from Sept through Nov 19.

In 2001, they were available from 4/22 to 9/30.

In 2002, they were avaiable from Jan 7 to Jun 7 and then again from Sept through Nov 17.

In 2003, they were available from 4/1 through 9/30.

I wouldn't count on having them available when you go but it certainly isn't beyond the realm of possibility.

I just got the January AAA magazine and there is an ad for the Play 4 Days pass. It is $109 plus tax. The ad says it is good now thru June 4, 2004 excluding April 3-15. Looks like you are in luck for your trip!!

I don't see anything on the Disney site about this. Anyone hear any more about the Play 4 Days?

Would love to buy those tickets again this year.

I found out from another thread that they are not available until January 4.

Just wanted to confirm what Seastar said. The new AAA magazine does have an ad for a FL Resident Play 4 days pass!! Have a nice trip!!!

Could anyone tell me about this passes. Family members have a home in Venice and I wonder if they qualify for these passes.

As long as they buy them for themselves and NOT for anyone that lives out of State!:o YOU WILL have to show a Fl. Resident Drivers License or ID card when activating the Pass!;)

"Going Places" the AAA South magazine durrent (Jan/Feb 2004) issue has a full page ad on Page 13. It is a four-day Park Hopper for $109.00 plus tax ($116.09). It can be purchased at any Florida AAA Office. There is nothing in the ad that states AAA Members only. The fine print is:

"Passes are valid for Theme Park admission thru June 4, 2004. excluding April 3-15. Proof of Florida residency required for each adult. Price is per Pass and is subject to change. Passes are nontransferable and only valid during regularly scheduled operating hours, excluding activities/events priced separately. Passes cannot be used in combination with any other discounts."

Figment,

I live in Miami. Would you know how I can get the address of a AAA office in my area?

Thanks!

My step-mom, a FLA res, wanted to buy my kids (ages 11 and 7) these for their Easter presents since we will be visiting them right after Easter next year. Anyone have any problems with kids using them this way?

The promotion is only for residents of the state of FL. If your kids were to move to and establish residency in FL then they would be eligible for the passes. If not....they are not "legally" eligible to use them even if they were purchased by a FL resident. When the passes are activated you must produce valid proof of FL residency.

I am not sure if you are asking if you can get away with it....which is possible, since children generally don't have a valid picture ID that proves their residency and I am sure you and your step-mother could lie.

If you are asking if "we" think this is wrong...I can only answer for myself when I say yes I think it is wrong. Not only does it teach your children that they can lie in order to get what they want, but it also places both the Disney company and FL residents at an economic disadvantage by your deception.

Maybe I should rephrase my ??: is there a problem with their grandmother purchasing tix for her grandchildren as a gift at a FL resident rate since she is a FL res and they are being purchased with her $$?

Accusing me of teaching my kids to lie to get what they want is over the top don't u think? My ?? was directed at the idea that she is their grandmother, purchasing them with her $$ as a gift, so I didn't see this as teaching my kids to lie or be deceptive, just asking if this is something valid (I understand they are not FL res but she is purchasing them as a gift for kids so was thinking this wasn't a deceptive move). Now, if I gave her $$ to buy those tix and tix for me and my hubby and proceeded to somehow fake my ID/address...then I could see where I would be deceptive. I was asking if this is ok with the system since they were gifts, I am buying tix for me and my neice (who is also a child) with my own $ at a nondiscounted rate. I am not trying to be deceptive..(If I were I'd at least be having her buy another ticket for my neice). I was looking at it as along the lines of non-FL res booking rooms along with FL ressie and getting their hotel discounts.

As I look back at it, I see that my thinking is a little misquided and I can see a point here from the other side, but I take exception to the idea that I am some low-life who teaches my kids to lie.

Deb's site also states that the Play 4 Days is in effect from Jan 4-June.

It does not matter who buys the voucher or where they live. Anyone can do that. However, the user of the ticket must provide proof of Florida residency.::MinnieMo

Sidenote:
Remember that when someone answers a post, they not only address one person but ALL others who might read the board. So unless you are called by name - don't take it personally.

Thanks!

I'm sure you can get the exact addresses off the AAA web site, but I did see one on my way to Pro Player stadium. I took Ives Dairy Road the whole way heading from Biscayne.

Considering that one can purchase an adult FL Resident Seasonal Pass with all the AP discounts for rooms, merchandise, etc., for only $201.29 w/tax, I just don't see how the 4 day pass is that great a deal.

Does anyone know if you can order these from the AAA website and/or call and get one shipped? My aunt (a Florida resident) wants one for our February trip, but the closest AAA office is about 30 minutes from her.

DanDave - believe me, if I were a FLR, I'd buy the seasonal pass(!) But my aunt only goes when I'm with her once a year; she enjoys our trips but has no interest in WDW otherwise. (Crazy woman, isn't she? :jester: )

Crazyformandms,
Unfortunately, your 11 year old is considered an adult as far as ticket prices go. So she/he would need an adult ticket. I am not sure if they require an ID for a "junior" who needs an adult ticket. I know my 11 year old had to do the finger scan when we bought our APs. So it may not work for the 11 year old.

But I think it would work for the 7 year old.

I am fairly sure the Play 4 Pass will be available at WDW. You do not need to go specifically to AAA.
