Any Changes to the Hub?

We were there in Jan. and teh entire hub area was boarded off like they were doing construction. I was just wondering if there were any changes to the hub or were they using that area to prepare the "additions" to the castle?

The boards are down. They have lower trees and fencing around all the tree areas. They no longer have concrete benches around each area like they used to - which I don't understand. The only benches now are around the statue of Walt and Mickey - and you don't want to sit in front of that because people like to take pictures there. I understand taking out the tall trees - but I don't understand leaving the seating.

I have lots of pictures of the hub area. The walls are down. It reminds you of the area at the beginning of main street except there isn't any bench.

Now with the new view, if your taking a picture from Walt's right hand side (from the Fronteirland side, toward the Tomorrowland side), you'll find Mickey's nose at an unfortunate position.

That "view" has been like that since before the refurbishment. It's been like that for years.

Thanks for the info and photos. I suppose they are trying to discourage people from touching the statue as it may be getting worn some after all these years.
