any chances of getting a studio during Christmas?

I haven't even called yet but can anyone tell me what my chances would be for getting a DVC studio Dec 25 - Jan 1? I know it's late in the game. We have some points that expire soon and I'm thinking maybe we'll shoot for a Christmas holiday at WDW. We haven't done that yet.

There have been lengthy waitlists for those dates for quite some time now. You can call and get on the waitlist, but I would say your chance is slim to none of getting a room at this late date.

Last year we got a studio at BCV 3-4 months out (can't remember which) so just call and get on a waitlist...you could get lucky like we did.

about a month ago i book a 1bdroom at bvc on dvc discount cash for dec. 30th and waitlisted for the same type room on points, yesterday my waitlist came thru. i need jan. 24th-29 and for weeks nothing was avaliable at bcv akv, bwv okw, just ssr, yesterday i got the 25,26 and 28 at bcv and waitlisted the 24th and 27th. i could have booked it on cash discount.
the inventory changes daily, so you never know what you will get.

The biggest challenge will be 12/31. That is arguably the most demanded day of the year! I would imagine there are many, many members ahead of you on the waitlist for that night.

No, I haven't done anything yet. After hearing what everyone had to say, I think we'll do something else. It could end up being a costly trip, given the fact we can't book airfare until we have the room so it doesn't look like a good option right now.
