Any Chance Getting April 2008 Room at GF?

We are usually very organized and planned - but this year have decided we would like to take a quick Disney break when the kids are off in April. Well the GF is totally booked - as is the Poly. They are the only 2 places my DH really will stay. They told me to call again to see if I can get canceled res in the am - but I keep calling and have had no luck so far. Realistically - anyone think I may have any luck getting a reservation?

When are you looking to go? Some weeks are sold out. I have been trying for monorail resort for 4/17 and no luck, keep calling twice a day hoping for a cancellation.

Same here, tried to book GF and the BC with no luck in getting a room,they told us to call back for cancelations.

We ended up booking the Yacht Club, and were lucky to get one of the last standard rooms.

Have you tried Orbitz/Expedia/Travleocity? Sometimes they have rooms available when CRO does not.

Will defintely try - thanks. We are a bit flexible with dates - my oldest is only in Kindergarten so I will pull him out if I have to for a day or two - but somewhere in the vicinity of the 16th - 22nd and staying for a week. My husband does not want to try anything else - he feels the convenience of the monorail now that we spend most of our time between Magic Kingdom and Epcot just cannot be beat and he does not really want to stay at the Contemporary. I cannot say that I disagree with him. Especially now that I am expecting again I think keeping convenience in mind is key! Wish me luck!

If you aren't able to get rooms through Orbitz, Travelocity, or Expedia and you really want to stay at a monorail resort maybe you could try the CR. I know you aren't too keen on it as a family but we stayed at the CR, GF, and Poly in January and while I agree with you, we prefered the GF and Poly, we honestly liked the CR for the convenience. It was so nice to be able to walk back and forth to the MK (particularly when we had sleepy little ones and the monorail was full) and we really appreciated that there were several elevators available to get the stroller to the monorail floor. When we were at the GF and Poly we could only find two elevators (the glass elevator was closed at the GF) to get the stroller to the monorail floor and this could be time consuming during busy times of the day. Also, if you are staying in the main building at the CR you are super close to your room at the end of the day (I know when you're expecting that when you're done for the day - you're done). The GF outer lodge rooms and the rooms at the Poly are still a walk, not too long though and outside, from the monorail. If you book your room(s) at the CR at least you know you'll have place to stay and you can keep trying to get your first choice resort. Keeping my fingers crossed for you - Good luck!!

I am a DS TA and just checked for availabilty for you starting on the 14 and playing with dates through the 25 and everything is full except for CBR and FW. I don't even see CR anymore. I would still keep checking, there may be a cancellation. Please let me know if I can assist you in anyway. I really hope you get the resort you want. Sending extra pixie dust your way

Thanks everyone for all of the help and info - I think we have given up on April and will just do May - even if we need to pull them out of school. Everyone has been so helpful - I would never have enjoyed our trips as much as I have without all the help I received from this website and these boards. Thanks again!

I think going in May would be your best bet. We can't change our day because we are cruising on 4/19. Will spend 4/17 eve and 4/18 day at MK. Still hoping for monorail. I am sure you will get something for May, and don't forget about the AP codes or the free ticket upgrades.

Anyone hear of availability at a monorail resort for 4/17 please let me know-will make our trip so much easier.

I just canceled 2 Royal Palm Club Level GF Deluxe Rooms for April 16 - 21st. We couldn't go and have move to Dec 27-Jan 1. Maybe you can get those.

Sorry you had to cancel, but thank you for the info. I called this am and they said no availability for the GF except suites. I will check again-but may be out of the budget. Thanks for letting me know, maybe Dismom22boys can get it. Have a great trip in Dec.

How last minute?
I do have something else booked (for free-points) for the 3 nights in Orlando so wondering if it's possible for something to come up that week or day?

I called every day 2 times a day and checked online twice a day and got it this am. There is hope, just keep calling especially close to the 45 day cancellation policy and first thing in the am.

If anybody is looking, I also cancelled WL deluxe room concierge for 4/17 when I booked this.
