Any chance Disney will extend MK hours during October

UPDATE: YES! I guess there is a chance lol. Parks hours have been extended up to 2 hours on several days. MK extended from 6 to 8pm on OCt 11 and 12, and Epcot was set to close at 7pm, now 9pm for those 2 days. WOOHOO!

Obviously no one has a crystal ball, but does anyone see Disney extending park hours in October? We're going the week of Oct 12th and I'm pretty bummed about such short hours. We are night owls and don't typically hit the parks till 11am. i LOVE being in the parks at night, definitely the best time to be there.

It looks like as of right now, park hours are the same all the way through late November. :( I'm just hoping someone has some optimistic reason why the hours might be extended :)

I would love to see Oct MK hours extended - we will be there that same week - but alas - don’t think Disney will be willing to spend the $$

I’d love to see any hours extended in October, but I’m also ok if they stay the way they are.

Considering they just shortened the hours later this month, I highly doubt they'll extend them in October. The current amount of business they're getting doesn't likely justify the additional costs of keeping the parks open longer.

I'm with skeeter31- I expect longer hours on holiday weeks/weekends for now. I suspect the shortened hours will be here to stay until capacity limits can increase and non-local tourists return in droves.

shortened hours start today

Shortened hours start today and are valid until Nov 21st. They might plan to extend them again for Thanksgiving week, but I guess we'll know only then.

Another vote for, "Nope."

They originally set 12-hour days for every park through December when they rolled out the new calendar in June. The shorter Fall hours were only posted a few weeks ago, I don't expect those to reverse.

How are we going to see the Christmas projections on the castle in November if the parks are only open until 6? It won't get dark until almost 6.

It will be dark around 5:30pm at the latest. Earlier if it's cloudy.

Unless attendance goes up, I don't expect to see the hours change.

No way. They already published their hours through November. They aren't gonna change that.

This is what I thought. They announced that they would have the parks decorated for Christmas so they will have to extend hours

Having the parks decorated for Christmas doesn't mean they "Have to" extend hours. as PP mentioned, it gets darker earlier at that time of the year. Decorations include all of the trees, swag, and other decorations that are totally visible during the day. Lights are great (they're amazing at Halloween too) but aren't required for the park to be decked out. I could see them doing a short castle projection for Christmas season just before the park closed, but I definitely wouldn't go into the parks with any expectation that MK HAS to be open later because of Christmas lights.

I hope it is.
