This is stupid of me to keep this going - this, I admit. But the OP asked:

"I know I am grasping at straws, but does anyone think disney might allow me to trade my APs for some tix I can use later? We only used them for 4 or 5 days I think. Thank you!"

She wanted to know if someone can tell her whether or not it was possible - not if it was "tacky". Seriously, who cares if someone on this board thinks it's "tacky"? It only matters what WDW thinks. And there might be someone here who actually knows the answer.

And one more time -- I really think you'd enjoy the debate that is discussing this very thread. There are people that are just as appalled as you over this lack of tact!

Okay so now I'm keeping this going! :D I don't want to debate it, really. All those debates over there all start to sound alike! The OP asked a question. She didn't put any stipulations on whether one can tell an opinion on what she was going to do. Therefore I can tell her mine. She might not like it but what can I say. She posted on a board that has all kinds of opinions, right or wrong. Just because she bought the AP and only used it for 4 or 5 days has nothing to do with whether she should get an extension. Like I said there are people that buy APs for the discounts alone. I buy ours for the 30 days we spend in the parks each year but if for some reason I could only get there for week, no matter the reason, I should not ask or expect an extension. WDW doesn't even give refunds for unused APS let alone ones that have been used even for 5 days. And yes I think that is tacky. I think it falls under the "entitlement mentality" and would be embarrassed to even ask for such a thing. Okay, I'm done. I think!

One more thing - I know I shouldn't be going to such extremes to argue this, but don't you think someone should be able to come to the trip planning forums and ask a question without people psychoanalyzing them and judging their character?

Simple replies: "I don't know but I suspect you can't get an extension", or "I don't know but you could ask", or " this happened to me and WDW was very helpful", or " I am a CM and I happen to know that the policy states there is nothing that can be done for you."

If you like getting into the definition of tackiness, the debate board is right around the corner.

Entitlement mentality is expecting something --- not asking for a favor and graciously accepting the answer.

Hi Mooneybeams (what a cute user name)

I think that what everything boils down to here is that you can:

1. Ask Disney for an extension on your APs
2. Ask Disney for some kind of refund on your APs
3. Not ask Disney for an extension or partial refund on your APs

None of us knows if you will get anything you ask for, a lot of us have offered personal opinions but you won't know what will happen until you actually present this issue to Disney for consideration.

My personal opinion is that if you truly feel that Disney should offer you some sort of extension or refund you should ask. The worst that could happen is that they could say "No".

Whether or not this would be a right thing or a wrong thing for you to do is for you, alone, to decide.

Congratulations on your pregnancy, new babies are wondrous creatures, aren't they?

I am now going to lock this thread. Should anyone care to continue this discussion you will find the debate board HERE.

Enjoy your weekend and have fun planning your trips.
