Any chance Disney is not being truthful about passenger counts?

I think the staff can be told anyone of 4 numbers.
•The staff and expected guests
•Just expected guests
•Staff and actual guests
•Just actual guests.
That would explain why the numbers vary from CM to CM. I don’t expect they give CMs a number of guests turned away at port because that would make a fun little national news story.

Outside of the Wish. Has any Disney cruise been sold out this year 2022? I’ve never heard it on the board’s here. If a cruise was sold-out it would have been limited to fit the “allowed number of guests”. So less than ___% right? But I can’t remember a single person saying “I tried to pick up a cruise last week and it was full”

I think spring break could provide the first full ship or two.

The Wish will get a lot of cancellations if vaccine mandates/testing requirements don't change. Maybe not the maiden voyage but the the other summer ones. There are quite a few holding out to see what summer brings since they changed the cancel date to 60 days out.

cast members on the phone don't have the exact number's and can't say what the numbers potentially are. So only cruisers asking cast members on the sailings are the most accurate counts we can get by.

We are sailing on the Wish in September, and I have some very significant concerns about capacity.

Personally, I have a significant problem with sailing at full capacity. I am okay with many of the restrictions being relaxed....self-service buffets, no masks and all of that. A full cruise ship I am much less okay with. And, I honestly don't know that I would go forward under those circumstances.
Sounds like you should be fully prepared to cancel your cruise. The Wish is very likely to be sailing at full capacity.

Just wondering with tables being brought back in/ seating parties together and yet guests on board are being told 2,500-2,600 on the Fantasy but we had 2,300 on the Fantasy in February and had private tables etc…

Also the photos I have seen of the adult pool area make our sailing look like a ghost town…

Would 200-300 guests really make that much of a difference?

Also interesting to note a member of our Facebook group for an upcoming May sailing called DCL today and was told that all sailings are capped at 50% which we know is currently not true because they have been sailing over 50% for a while.

I’m just wondering how truthful disney is being about the numbers on board.
I don't believe they are seating parties together yet. FYI

It's definitely in the conversation.

Right now, we are just monitoring open staterooms, which there does seem to be a fair amount on our sailing from cancellations.

With the Wish being slightly larger than the Dream/Fantasy, I'm hoping that alleviates some of those bottleneck areas, and allows for a bit more physical distancing.

The plan was to monitor some of the early Wish sailings just to get a visual idea of what the crowded ship would look like. Unfortunately, with the Maiden Voyage being pushed back, it puts it after our "cancel by" window.

Testing requirements may go away, but I just don't see the vaccine mandate going away anytime soon. The health center can't handle any severe cases of Covid that an unvaxxed person might come down with at sea. Now if we get to a point that the strains of Covid going around are just causing cold symptoms in everyone (vaxxed and unvaxxed) with a very low chance of severe--mandates will go away... we're not there yet.

We just got off the Fantasy yesterday too. We had main seating and spent nearly all our time in the adult areas. You still could tell the cruise was at reduced capacity. There were a lot of empty tables around us at dinner. The two of us had a 4 top to ourselves. We never had to hunt for a lounger in the sun or reading area in the shade. We were able to get in Cove pool and Satellite Falls easily. Our servers said the cruise was around 2500, about 65%. The only time we encountered crowds were at some of the trivia games in O’Gills. But that place is pretty small. We had the best time!
We had the best time too! Fortunately we seemed to go to the trivia games that weren't as full, we never did the evening ones in O'gills (because free drinks in the concierge lounge start at 5, *wink wink* lol) so there was never an issue at the games I went to. I usually spent my day just looking at the app going "what's happening now?" and then going "hey, that looks like fun..." and just semi aimlessly wondering from one thing to the next. It was like the perfect cruise for us, we loved it! I kept meaning to ask our servers or the concierge team about how many were on board, but my ADHD would kick in and I never got around to it, and it didn't seem to matter since it was obviously not full.

We were on the April 4th-8th Dream. I asked and was told a full ship was just over 4000 and we were sailing with 2600, with 1000 of those being kids. We had the modified safety drill when we boarded which was great. All families had their own tables in the dining rooms, which was also great. Can't wait to book the next one!

maybe there will be some GTY availability then, we haven’t booked anything on the Wish, so would be interested in a last minute booking. ❤️ 🤞

Just got off the Magic on Monday. Passenger count was 1500 which felt about right. We were told that number by a few CMs. Was also told they were looking forward to full capacity soon. Our January cruise was only 650 pax onboard and you could tell the difference. I actually liked the vibe and energy better this time. It was harder to get a seat by the pool on the sea day but I still enjoyed seeing people. We were two people and had our own table at dinner.

1000 kids of 2600 passengers, wow!!! Did your sailing have the "open as usual" (no reservation necessary) kids' clubs already?

If anyone has any recent capacities of the clubs, or their kids' "capacity impressions" to share for the oceaneers or edge spaces, TIA!

Not sure if anyone truly knows anything about actual numbers. We sailed Mar 26 - Apr 2 and it was not full capacity. Spoke with a bartender and they said mid-May things were going back up to full capacity. We are sailing Memorial Wknd and last week there were open staterooms - looked this week and nothing other than around 190 verandahs are left. We are VGT so (im)patiently awaiting our stateroom assignment, which seems to be anywhere from 31 - 7 days prior to sailing. I have read on these boards that people saw everything booked up (inside/oceanview/concierge) and then it all of the sudden opened up again - so I am really not sure what the numbers are. Just heard that they will be opening up cruises to full capacity and we expect a full ship end of May and when we sail again in October, January, and next March. We sure loved the smaller crowds and the open elevators! We haven't sailed concierge yet - and have yet to request a private table. We are going to see how things work out sharing tables again.

We are all adults so I don't have any info on the kids clubs.
