any chance a waitlist for 11/11 will come through?

I had a ressie for part of Feb vacation, but got shut out of the flights . So, now I have flights for Veteran's Day weekend, but can't get a room! I hadn't planned on trying to go to WDW at all during F&W for this reason , but I have a SWA credit to use or lose, so I thought I'd take a chance on a waitlist.

Anyone had any luck in the past? I may end up staying in a moderate for double the points , just so as to not lose the flight credit! I'm so mad I wasn't at my home computer for the Feb vacation DING!

Am I totally out of luck re: the waitlist?

P.S. I don't usually use this many emoticons, but I'm totally procrastinating some work!

I would say your chances are good. I was on the wait list for a last minute reservation for the Columbus Day weekend for both SSR & OKW (my home resort). There was virtually nothing available at any resort for either a studio or 1 BR. Last week a 1 BR came available at both. I have always had very good luck with the wait list.

If you're not particular about which resort, you may get something. Unfortunately, I'm being a bit more picky with my waitlist for Oct. and I'm not having any success. I only have a couple more days for it to come through since I already have a cash reservation for the night I need (7 day cancellation).

That is a very busy weekend at WDW because of the holiday, end of F&W, end of Jersey Week, and Super Soap weekend. I have been on a waitlist for a studio preferred at BW for that weekend, on a night by night basis, and so far nothing.

If you will stay at any resort, you may have a better chance.

I have a 1 bdrm at VWL for that week (Jersey week) and I've been waitlisted for a 2 bdrm standard at BW for months with no activity. I've been told that it's a really tough time, with all the activities going on. We'll be fine w/ the 1 bdrm, but I really hoped for the extra space.

DOH! I forgot about Super Soap! Sheesh-I did *not* plan this well at all! I'm not picky about where we stay, so I've got us on every DVC resort waitlist for a studio. I asked about also waitlisting a 1BR, but didn't have enough points left to do both. Bleah.

I did waitlist BWV for our August trip, and it came through in about 2 days. But, there was nothing going then, on other than just being summer. This November weekend must be one of the most activity packed weekends on the calendar!

Like I said in my OP, I didn't originally set out to book this weekend, but I was able to use my flight credits, so I thought I'd take a chance. I found out today that friends of ours will be at OKW that week, so it would be so fun to meet up at a park or a pool for a few hours.

Well, I'll keep wishing for some pixie dust! Thanks for the encouragement!

There are still flights from Hartford to MCO on SWA for Feb vacation. They are expensive, but they're open.

Thanks, dgaston! Of course, being from/in RI, we don't like to have to travel further than 20-30 minutes in any direction without making major arrangements (pack a lunch, get maps from AAA, etc.).

My other problem is, I'm totally cheap when it comes to flights, and I want to use up my SWA credit and not have to spend much more on top of it. Maybe I'll see if my husband would totally flip out if I took our DD out of school for a few days in January. He's a teacher, so he probably won't go for it!

I just may be eating these flights!

Don't give up hope. My wait-list just came through on Friday (9/29) for that weekend. (We had the 5th-9th booked, and needed 9th-13th.) We've had very good luck with the wait-list over the years.

we went last year that week and had to wait list the weekend to add on for two studios and they both came throught about three weeks before at ssr. you will get one, probably ssr.

Sarah, if all that pixie dust doesn't work, LMK if you want to trade DVC points for RCI or HGVC. I've got points available (cancelled my backup ressie at HGVC Seaworld for the 11/5-13 when SSR came through) if you need a place to stay and are willing to stay off-site.

I had a waitlist come through at 8-days out in April for BCV. I'm sitting on 29 holding points that I'm hoping to use to upgrade from a studio to a one-bedroom at BWV 11/6-11/9. I talked to member services on Friday and set-up the 7-day waitlist then. If I don't get it, we're cruising 11/9-11/12, then staying one more night, currently at OKW and I'm sure I'll be able to use the holding points for a deluxe resort that last night. But a 1-bedroom would mean I could do laundry before the cruise, thus bringing substantially less luggage!!!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that all our waitlists come through!
