Just curious if anyone has had an official sacramental wedding at home in a church, and then a second Disney dream wedding at WDW? I have a very young DD5 who is already dreaming of a Disney wedding, but since we're Catholic, a church wedding is required. I started thinking abt it, and wondered if anybody else has solved that issue by doing 2 weddings:scared1: .

Just do 2 weddings :thumbsup2

I'm Catholic, and my husband is Orthodox Christian, so we did a wedding in an Orthodox church. The Disney wedding was our 2nd wedding. :bride:

I'm Catholic, but not having a Catholic wedding. I think Carolina (Camera381) is having her wedding in a Catholic church and then reception and all else in Disney. Check out her PJ and that might help you out! :thumbsup2

my friend had a Disney Wedding last year and now having the Catholic ceremony in March

Thanks Meg. Yes are having a catholic ceremony and then the cocktail hour and reception in Disney. Dis is providing all floral and decorations. IF you have any questions let me know. I know it's been hard for me to find anything out.

We originally considered doing a Catholic blessing prior to our DFTW but have now decided that we're just going to have a small blessing when we return from Florida. Just for close family and friends - parents, siblings and bridal party. The benefit is that I get to buy a second dress :cool1:

You can either do a Catholic wedding at home and then another ceremony at Disney (which is essentially a VR since you'll already be married), or you can get married at Disney and then do the convalidation ceremony at your Church when you get home. Some Churches/Priests don't like doing it that way because they feel like wanting to get married at WDW is not a good enough reason for not getting married in the Church initially. It varies, though, so ask around when the time comes and I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out!

I would definitely want her to have the Catholic sacramental wedding first since that's the basis of our beliefs about marriage. But I just know she will want to do the Disney wedding too. Of course I have told my DH and he is already shaking his head at me! She IS only 5 at the moment! But I guess if we know we're springing for 2 weddings now, we can start saving and planning for that. And if they want to honeymoon at WDW, they will already be there. That's convenient!
