where do you find the best deals for disney merchandise that delivers to canada and got the best prices?

I ordered my dd's Halloween costume from disney shopping. The Jojo costume was around $25. But, after shipping (their rates a really high a lot higher than LLBean) and taxes and duty it came to $65. I'll definitely think twice about ordering from disney again.

The shipping fees from Disney.com are outrageous! They are making a ton of money off of the shipping, therefore.....no shopping on Disney.com for me! I did email them once asking why they were so high and really got no real reply from them, except for them to say thank you and telll me what the rates were:confused3

I have bought from Disneyshopping.com and from Landsend. To avoid the cost of shipping I have the stuff sent to my girlfriend in the states and then she sends it to me.

The rates are high because they send everything by courier instead of using the mail. It lessens the chance that shipments will get caught up in customs, but means we have to pay way more for shipping. Your best bet is to find someone with a US address and have your stuff delivered to them.

The only thing I have to say is never order a gift card from them. It will take your order, it will take your money and that's it. When you finally figure out where is my gift card you phone them and they say they never sent it Why? Because they are not allowed to send them to Canada.:confused3:confused:You then have to wait to have your cc refunded.:rolleyes1. The shipping charges to Canada can double the cost to your order.

I have read many posts that say people find great deals on disneyshopping.com and have them sent to their resort during their stay at WDW - that way shipping is cheaper (sometimes free), you get great deals on souvenirs for the kids to bring home, and you don't have to pay duty if you've been away long enough. Sounds like a plan to me!!!

not before taking out a mortgage

Has anyone shopped with them and them had the items shipped to their resort? If so how much time do you allow from time order is placed until arrival at the resort? Thanks Kathy

Well I think shipping is outrageous too. So have it shipped to a friend in the states. When it is free shipping and have her ship it to me. But for big items shipping is not too bad. When they were shipping the 19" mickey TV to Canada they were charging 40.00 US. Which was not bad considering it was 65 pounds and we would never buy it down there and take it back on the plane. And have yet to see the 19" Mickey TV here only 13 " inch.

I've ordered from disneyshopping.com a few times and had it shipped to our resort, or to another hotel. With Disney, I just ordered 1.5-2 weeks before we left to make sure it had enough time, and then called the resort directly a few days before we left to make sure it was there. When it asks you for the name in the shipping field, I put my name and "arriving xx/xx/07" with your arrival date, then the name and address of the resort. Bell services will hold your package in the luggage room and there should be a note on the computer when you check in that there is a package for you. Bell services will bring it to your room for you. I think this happens a lot at Disney, because they seem quite used to it. I've also done it on other vacations, just called the hotel first to make sure it was ok to ship boxes, then same process.

Just make sure you leave room in your luggage to bring it all home!! And note that the toy Buzz Lightyear guns will tip off the TSA during baggage x-rays and they'll search all your luggage!!!
