Any Buzz on Jan 2010 deals?

If they do the 4/3 like last year, yes, you'd have to book two different 7 day ressies to get the free days. Have you looked into an AP like the OP said? It may actually be cheaper for you?!?!
If they offered to $200 gift cards like last year, you'd get 2 since you had 2 ressies!

Like another poster said, I'm praying for 4/3 + Free dining :rotfl:
A girl can dream...And go ahead and throw in that $200 GC! :yay:

I did look into the ap, but right now I have a certain budget, and no immediate plans to go back, not for 3 or so years.

Right now my room is $1208.28 (includes tax), and the 10 day hoppers are $289 each. I may get regular at $241 instead and add the hopper there if/when we decide to hop. It would only save $4 to add it now, vs. $96 if we wind up not hopping. We'll be there so long we might end up not needing to hop. So total room/tickets would be $1786 or $1690. I'll have to crunch the numbers to see what it comes out to with rack rates/free days/extra 1 day tickets to save for later trip.

So it would be like this?

Week 1: pay 4 days rack rate room, pay (2)10 day tickets.

Week 2: pay 4 days rack rate room, pay (2) 1 day tickets (to save for later)

We don't do waterparks and did disney quest already (that was not our cup of tea at all).

Oh, also, with the higher weekend rates, if we are staying Tuesdays to Tuesdays...how do they figure that? I guess 2 weekend day prices and 2 regular day prices. Or average?

It would probably be easier to wait to see if it comes out and call them and get them to spit out a calulation :teacher:

I think the extra $400 gift cards would probably be the clincher. Can they be used for food or merchandise only? I know that info is somewhere, I'll go try to search, but just in case anyone knows offhand.

Thanks for all the info!

We just decided to do a late Jan trip. Since some of you have been there before in Jan, what's the weather like? I've been in Cocoa Beach at that time & remember it can be quite chilly. I'm hoping we can swim--but am doubtful?:confused3

We go in Jan. all the time...except for one hurricane season trip...LOL.
It has been from in the 50's to the 80's at different times. One trip it was
in the 50's when we got there and by the time we left 5 days later it was almost in the 90's.

Disney keeps the water heated in all the water features...we saw some people swimming with it
only in the high 60's.....brrrrrrrr

I'm wishing for something even better then the buy 4 get 3 free deal. Who's with me for maybe a buy 4 get 3 free deal with free dining haha! Hey we can dream right?! :lmao:

Right on!

Or even that if you add dining you only pay for the 4 nights of it and get the other 3 free.

I think I read that during certain periods this year for the 4/3 that it also included a $200 Disney gift card per room.

Weather can be either in the 50's or in the 90's. We had a bit of both last Jan and just expect it to rain!! :)

We would like to stay 9 or 10 days this time but i'd do the 3 for 4 again in a heartbeat that worked great for us.

when exactly did they release the Jan/feb promo's last year? I am waiting too because i need to book flights first. I really plan on going 5 days only but if the only offer is 4/3 free then i don't want to have to rebook flights as higher cost if it falls on a more expensive time or day

Last year, it was mid November. It might be a little earlier this year if the fall deals are any indication, because they came out as soon as the booking period ended for the late summer free dining rather than in mid-Aug as usual. The booking for the current fall promos ends in late Sept, IIRC.

I have an idea....I've been visiting this site daily surfing the threads to see if the 2010 deals have launched yet. I've also gone so far as to consider putting the disneyworld website on my home page (just can't make that leap yet seeing that I use my PC at work so much). It's all getting a bit obsessive for me :surfweb: and it's a real time waster going through all that work and finding out there's nothing substantial yet. But like everyone here, I soooooo badly want to find out if a 2010 deal has been announced and I want to be the first to hear about it!

So, if it makes sense why don't we create a new topic post that is specifically for posting ONLY if the poster has legit "late breaking 2010 deal announcements". Set it up so that viewers visiting should be advised to reply to the thread only when they have a solid 2010 deal verified. The key to making this less work for you is when you view the thread, go up to the "Thread Tools" select "Subscribe to this thread" & set it for whatever preference you want...

For me, I'd have it send me emails whenever there's a new post. I can view right from my email inbox any late-breaking news...it's not 100% fool-proof, not everyone is tied to their email inbox like I am 8 hours a day at work, but better than surfing through threads that twist & turn beyond the topic everyone wants to hear: "Hey! It's the real deal! A 2010 Deal/Promo is live!!!"

Convince me this is a good idea and I'll post something - or if it'll be a train wreck, talk me out of it!

:3dglasses

When you all speak of the 4/3 deal, if you purchase the DP with that, is it also free for those 3 days, or is it just the room and tickets? I went this past January and we loved it. I want to go back this coming January, hoping that I can swing it.

The "3 free" was just hotel and tickets. We purchased the dining plan and paid for the full 7 nights (well, actually 8 because we added an extra night).

If they do the 4/3 in 2010 and add dining to the 3 free that would be a sweet deal!:goodvibes
