I went to make PS's at Hollywood & Vine and was told they no longer had breakfast. The last time we were there was February. I must have missed the closing. Any suggestions for a full breakfast at MGM?

For a full breakfast, I'm afraid you're out of luck if I remember my facts correctly. I only remember H&V being the only place that served breakfast. For quick and sweet eats, you can do Starring Rolls until you're ready for an early lunch maybe. :D

Last year we went to MGM very early on New Year's Eve and decided to try Commissary for breakfast(we had only mediocre lunch there before). It was a great treat! They have eggs, french toast platters and some ala carte. Our egg platters and FS's french toast were hot, cooked fresh and better than any McDonald's fast food. We really were surprised. We did not have PS at H&V, but really lucked out. I would try it again

Sorry. I hate to see MGM not offer any character meals. The Soundstage used to be one of our favorites. I have eaten at both Commissary & Starring Rolls as well and both were good, but not sit down service.

I'm with Connears. We really liked the Commissary the 2 times we have eaten there. It is not sit down, but I would rate it very high compared with other counter service I have had at disney. We had the traditional breakfast and the eggs were great. It is on our list for September after we do early entry at MGM.

Here are the breakfast choices at Disney MGM-Studios:

The Coffee Cart at Entrance Plaza for fresh pastries, coffee, and espresso

Starring Rolls Bakery at the corner of Hollywood and Sunset Boulevard

Anaheim Produce for fresh fruit and coffee

ABC Commissary for scrambled eggs, French toast, and pancakes

Hope this helps.

I would agree with the ABC Comm. We usually grab a hot breakfast there and considering it's counter service and in a theme park it wasn't bad. My hubby doesn't eat breakfast, so the only way we get something hot is to do counter service. LOL

Even my mom, who's pretty picky liked the breakfast there. It isn't 5 star, but it works!!

I have a question!

I've just received character breakfast certificates, which are part of the 10 day hopper+ tickets (may only be UK). There's a list on the back of participating restaurants, and included are the ABC Commissary and Hollywood and Vine!!

The only other in-theme park locations listed are Pizzafari, Restaurantosaurus and the Tusker House restaurant, none of which we fancy much from experience and comments elsewhere on this board.

We've never stayed on site, and have never done a character breakfast before so have no idea about the other restaurants listed.

How can I find out which are really the participating restaurants, and what would you recommend for a party of 5 adults, a 15yo, two 12yos, a 7yo and a 3yo? Is it best to be there early, or eat later and call it lunch?

How far in advance do we need to book? We're going the last fortnight in October.

Thank you

I will call 1-407-wdw-dine & get the info from them. They'll reserve a table for you & everthing! If Hollywood & Vine is stll offering the breakfast I'd choose there! HUGE selection & TONS of characters!!!!!

P.S. OUR "COUNTDOWN CLOCKS" ARE ALMOST IN SYNC!

Edie - H&V character breakfast is no more, they just haven't updated the vouchers. I would pick a character breakfast at the resorts to use your voucher, since they are the most costly per person. We are doing the Cape May since we are staying at the BC. It depends on your resort, how about Chef Mickey's, you could schedule a late Chef Mickey's and hop on the monorail after doing Magic Kingdom all morning. Chef Mickey's is a classic, everyone should eat there at least once. It also depends on what characters your kids might be interested in. You can see Princesses at the Grand Floridian breakfast. Have fun deciding.

Thanks for the info. My sister's group is on the Silver Plan. I don't think they can use their 'wishes' for counter service.

It's kind of a bummer that they no longer have any place for a full breakfast. And it was a character breakfast to boot. We always got to MGM at opening and then made PS's for about 30 minutes later and everyone would get to go on RNR two or three times before breakfast. We're going to have to figure something else out, because our group is not the type to get up at the crack of dawn to eat and still get to MGM at the opening.

The Commissary sounds good for my DH and me. Is that the one by HISTK playground?
