Any big difference visiting first half of Feb vs. May?

My dates are flexible and I want to take my family to WDW before my son starts kindergarten. Cost and crowds are the most important factors of choosing a date. However, weather does play a small role too. Any experts who have visited during both times have an opinion? I think Feb is more of a value season, but May is definitely more reliable to plan a pool visit and not layer in clothing which is a plus. Any input on crowds please...? Thanks you!

I can't compare, as I've never been in May, but we've had both hot and cool weather in February. In 2017, it was hot. This year, it was only warm enough to swim one day. It's a bummer when it's too chilly to swim, but it makes the parks a little more pleasant.

We saw significantly more crowds this year, so we did a lot less rides on standby.

I just took a quick peek at TP historical crowds, and it looks like crowds were somewhat lower in May than they were in February of this year. We will be going back in February again, but it will likely be the last time...February crowds will feel like nothing once we start going in the summer or over a school break!

The past few years crowds have been lower in May when I've been there (first or second week of May). I would go in May because then you can also enjoy the hotel pool. February has a holiday & the race weekend, plus it has a reputation of being the "slow season" so more & more people have been going in in February.
