Any bets on free dining in 2007?

Anyone think they will be offering this again? I want to spend 2 weeks in Orlando, one at a timeshare. I don't want to book the timeshare until I'm sure about Disney so I'm trying to figure if the free dining will be offered again. If it will be great, if not I may look at staying at a moderate or a lesser deluxe. Thanks!

I am keeping my fingers crossed on this one. My family loved the free dining. It made this years vacation even more special with all of the different restaurants that we finally got to try.

Maybe yes- but most likely not during Peak Season. WDW is packed at Easter, Spring breaks, early summer, Thanksgiving and Christmas ;)

I wouldn't count on it. I call it the Hurricane special and this year the season was back to normal. It was first offered last year after about 3 or 4 hurricanes hit Orlando in 2004. (Too many to remember) Hurricane Jeanne ran me off early!! Anyway, people tend to forget quickly and so I tend to think the resorts will be full enough without the free dining.

Since people in the UK have until early November to book free dining for next summer,(Mid August until the end of September)I'm sure they'll offer it again.

However, I don't think they'll allow it to be booked with just a one day base ticket. I believe UK visitors are required to purchase at least a 5 day ticket.

No matter what the changes are, I plan to take advantage if it's offered. :wizard:

They'll do something, but it may not be the same as the last 2 years. I will definitely do it again if it's offered!

I too think they will offer free dining...anyway, I will happily pay for it, whether it is totally free, partial or not, DH an myself still speak fondly of the amazing restaurants we visited simply because of the free dining offer in 2005

I'm betting that they will offer it but it will not be as liberal as it has been. Probably will require at least a certain amount of nights and certain amount of days on your tickets. No more 1 day tickets in order to get free dining. I’m pretty sure that is what they did to our friends in the UK for their 2007 free dining offer.

I agree with you on this one. After reading the new changes for our UK friends, we too will probably have the same restrictions. 5 day tickets and no deserts with the CS (that's probably a good thing). The ticket restriction will affect alot of AP holders, like myself. I'll have to crunch the numbers, pay for the larger tickets and use them toward the purchase or renewal of APs. Unfortunately we have a LLOOONNGG wait, especially if it's announced in April 2007 like last year, that's 5 months away.

n2mm- I am considering buying an AP this year. How does that work if you buy tix in addition to the pass? You mentioned using it towards renewal? Any advice would be helpful. Also, do you find the room discounts worth the pass?

Dusted,
I buy the AP primarily for the room discount especially if you tend to stay at Deluxes. Many times the AP rates are easily $200/night off of rack rates. I then pick up a DDE card which entitles me to 20% off of my TS meals including alcohol. I tend to eat 2 TS's a day (we don't like CS) and my DH & I enjoy a cold beer now and then.
