Any Bankers!!Help Deposit Missing Money-RESOLVED!

I had to write and say I have not heard anymore news. They said they would call me today after that got all her paperwork from the main branch.
For some of your comments about accusing the teller of stealing. All I have said was that I gave her $475 and all that was deposited in my account was $375. I stated that all my money was not deposit into my account. I worked for 12 years in financing. I was a cashier and I also worked in the back. I know how money can be missed and I also know how money can be stolen. It was a high stress job so I left for another field of work.
I have been with this credit union for over 25 years and have never had a problem, so this shocked me. We have been trying to push to get deposit slip and so far it has not happen. I want to Thank for all for your support and I will let you know how it turns out. I have learned a lesson that I will not go to the bank when I am distracted by all I have to get done.

Thanks, :D

I have to admit that your experience made me check my deposit receipt before I even pulled away from the teller window yesterday. Usually, I just toss the slip on the passenger seat and take off because I don't want to delay the person behind me. But yesterday, I made sure that the amount I know I deposited was on the slip itself. It was correct but you never know when it might not be. I hope things work out for you. $100 is a lot of Mickey Bars!

GArydeb, SO sorry this has happened to you. I know 10+ years ago, when I worked as a teller I made mistakes...luckily I usually figured it out before the end of the day. It is a bad sign that the teller was able to prove at the end of the night. You can stand firm, and insist that you remember counting the money several times etc. The teller might have a chance to recount strapped money, and there could be an extra 100 in there. But unfortunatly if the money is gone, it is gone. I really hope that it comes back to you in other ways :wizard: . I know it is very stressful. Wishing you the best. I am sure you probally did this, but did you double check where you put the money together, your clothes, your car, and any stops you might have made? I really hope it turns up. :flower1:

It also seems likely that IF the teller was stealing this will not be the first or the last time such a complaint was lodged against the teller.

Hi all,

I just got a call from the manager at my credit union. She said they did not find my $100, but since we have been loyal customers for over 25years they will take the lost and deposit $100 in my checking account by the end of the business day today!!!!!! She said that the camera did not show the cashier counting any money that day.

I want to THANK you all for your support and allowing me to vent!!!! NOW
I can enjoy getting ready for our WDW trip!!!

Thanks,
garydeb

Good to hear it was resolved !!! Enjoy getting ready for your trip !! :flower1:

Glad to hear it worked out for you.:) I'm sure the cashier will be more careful in counting and/or typing in the proper amounts if it was simply a typo, and a few of us learned a valuable lesson too. I, too usually just put the deposit slip in my bag. But if the cashier types in the wrong amount or adds a different total than what I have, I need to know about it right away!

This reminds me of once, when a cashier berated me for pushing all the checks (no cash) with a deposit slip not totalled up. I didn't want to hold up the guy in line behind me, and got to the head of the line sooner than expected. She asked me how much was I depositing. I said, "I don't know, aren't YOU going to add it up yourself anyway?"

She said yes, but was really peeved that I wouldn't have added up the total deposit for myself first and told me that. I should ALWAYS know how much I am depositing, even if they are trackable checks. Errors happen. Your incident makes me realize, she is right after all.
