Any attractions you haven't done at U/S or IOA?

Hi Macraven- we have not made resevations yet for Oct. When are you going? We will just make it a short week-end visit to meet you so let us know when you are going. I am still trying to convince my husband we need to try HRH. He fell in love with the Hard rock cafe on the last visit so I think he is weakening:banana: He said the resturants look interesting at the HRH also- have you tried the Palm Resturant?

i'll be at hrh oct 9 early morning and checking out on the evening of the 13th.
have not tried the palms yet.
i go solo and it is one place i do not feel comfortable eating alone at.

i love the kitchen for the breakfast buffet.

i would love to meet up with you.
if oct does not work out for you, then we need to set up an alternative date.

That's the excuse I use for not seeing it!::yes::

barney is just too purple for me.

i love you, you love me..lets be one big happy fa-mi-ly.........

or is that his signature song...?

Macraven- I will make reservations when we get home for that week-end. Leaving in a few hours for Portofino Bay!

Maybe we can all eat at the Palms? I can't wait to try the Kitchen- pictures I have seen of it look great.

You want to do Barney with us also?:rotfl2: When our son was first diagnosed he loved to watch Barney- and a stuffed Barney was all he wanted(he still has it) so Barney has a special place in my heart.

Do you know of any suite at the HRH that has a sunken seating pit? I saw pictures of one years ago and not sure if they still have it?

is it the hospitality suite that has the sunken pit?

call when you are on site to find out or have concierge at pbh find out for you.
maybe they can set up the ressie for you while you are on site.

have a great trip!!

well, i'm not a barney fan, more of the seasame street type of gal but i can handle barney show with you all.

you don't mind if i sing along do you?

That's just evil putting that blasted song into my head! Let me return the favor:

"Do you really want to hurt me? Do you really want to make me cry?"

As for The Palms, I wasn't that impressed with it. The steak was ok but I was expecting great because of the price. The food is served individually, so that $40 steak is just a steak. Sides cost extra. The steak I got at Tchoup Chop was much better and came with side dishes.

yea, i can't get that song out of my head either now.

we are both doomed...........

thanks for the heads up on the palms....

i know they keep the hotel tourist park guests on one side of the room and the other for the dressed up dinners...

i looked in and noticed that.

:rotfl:

We were dressed up, business casual, when we dined there. It was on arrival day and we just hung out at Citywalk and in our hotel room at the RPR until it got close to our reservation time. Got dressed and headed over for dinner.

Afterwards, my wife had to call a potential co-worker for a job offer. So we found a seat on the patio overlooking the pool at the HRH near the bar while she did that. We must have been in the bar area, because the attendants kept asking us if we wanted anything to drink. After the third time, I decided to have a margarita while my wife had a manhatten.

Thanks for the heads up on the Palms - think I will skip it - I don't care for snobby attitudes. We have eaten at Bice several times and they have been great. I guess we will stick with the Kitchen while at HRH.

Thanks for the info Macraven. While we are there I might sneak over and ask to see the suites. And yes you can sing along with Barney! You should see the looks we get- we sing along to every song and know all the words:rotfl2:

We are leaving in another hour so I am off! Will let you know how it went when we get home Monday night...

I believe that The Palm has a menu out front, so I suggest taking a look at it. Although I probably won't eat there again, I have read positive comments from other posters. So if you want to try it, please go ahead and try it. When it comes to food, we have our own individual tastes. I also didn't like Pastamore, when I ate there several years ago, while other have loved it. On the flip side, I really like Tchoup Chop while others do not. I also didn't notice any problems with the atmosphere at The Palms. Our server was very friendly. We did get there at opening at 5pm so the restaurant was pretty empty throughout our meal.

dsmom, i 'm just worried about all the people that i spent the quarters on if i get on that ride.

what if they all gang up on me and use their quarters on me......

who cares?? you're gonna get wet anyway.... :teeth:

Macravein- You have got to do Popeyes!! It is our favorite all time ride anywhere! We bring a change of clothes in a gallon ziplock bag and put it in the lockers next to Wimpys (thanks for the tip on the lockers - Bubba'smom!) When you get off just go back to the lockers and the restrooms are right there by the lockers. We change and put the wet clothes in the ziplock. And Bubba'smom- you have to do Barney!:rotfl2: Our son is 9 also (he is autistic) and STILL loves Barney! I have to admit I still love the show also.

you are welcome for the tip ;) ....altho, think we are just wearing suits and flipflops and traveling light this year. I think it was our check out day we did Popeye last year, so needed dry duds to change into for our drive to FIL'S house.

I like Dudley better. Don't know why really, you get really wet on both of them, but Dudley is more sceneic i think

i think there is a lot more to look at on Dudley's....AND a better story... still...not as "fun" as Popeye....(not as wet)

barney is just too purple for me.

i'd see it (just to say i've seen it)..if anyone can convince me to drag Bubba there :confused3 Barney + 9.5 yo boy = no way jose! :worried:
