Anyone swear by their multivitamin?

I find myself lacking energy every once in a while & wonder if those who take daily vitamins are better off?

I sell nutritional supplements and whole food products as a side business, so you bet I believe in them!

my mom buys me vitamins, lol, because she knows I wont, and when she visits me, she looks in the bottle to see if I been taking them

I don't know why but vitamins make me throw up:confused3 It's not a gag reflex thing, after I take them I feel sick:confused3

I am the same way. I cannot take vitamins without feeling ill. The doctor said it is the iron. I take my vitamin at night instead.

My friend takes the Flintstones vitamins in the morning. It is the only vitamin she can take without feeling sick to her stomach.

My doctor recommended a multivitamin with minerals last year after I had surgery. I've been taking the generic version of Centrum since then and I do feel better.

I take a Centrum and a Vit. C every day and I don't get sick (knock on wood). Not sure if it's the vitamins but I figured they can't hurt.

I also take the generic version of Centrum. Have been for years. Don't know if it helps or not. I take them on vacation with me.

That's the only time I can take mine as well.

I take vitamins religiously. I take a generic Centrum (Walgreens) and 1000mg of Vitamin C (a 500 2x a day) and I take 1000mg fish oil and 1000mg flaxseed oil. I also take 500mg of calcium.

I swear by my vitamins. I feel great. And this winter I did get the flu shot for the first time. I am 52yo. I have recently been to London and Paris for 12 days and I was on planes, trains(Eurostar), subways, cabs and buses. I have been in contact with tons of people and no signs of any colds whatsoever.

I take the multi-vitamin, a vit C and a flaxseed after breakfast. Then either after lunch or dinner I have another vit C and my fish oil. Randomly throughout the day sometime I take my calcium. I always take my vitamins after eating something. For those who have issues with vitamins, try making sure you take them on a full stomach.

VITAMINS:thumbsup2

If you cook a bunch of healthy meals and make sure everyone is eating a well-balanced diet, you don't need vitamins. I don't, so we take them. :)

I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that DS, away to first year of college, isn't taking his. I sent them along, though!!

This is sooooo OT, :offtopic: :offtopic: but COOL-BEANS, what exactly does that mean?? My father has said that phrase his entire life....dollars to doughnuts...???

Now back to your regularly scheduled THREAD.

p.s. Do not forget to take your vitamins.:goodvibes

I find by taking a multi vitamin every day that I get sick less than when I don't.

Mine's kind of a benign argument but: DW is an MD and she and I both take a multi vitamin every day. As long as it isn't one of the "massive doses" kind of vitamin, the thinking is that it will probably be a benefit but most certainly won't do any harm (again, I'm talking about the basic Centrim or One-a-day kind of vitamin/mineral supplement). I feel better when I'm using vitamins but I won't discount the possibility of a placebo effect.

I take a basic multivitamin daily at bedtime. To me it's just a simple insurance policy. I like fast food WAY too much to count on myself to get a perfectly balanced diet. ;)

I try, but I like the idea that the vitamin is there to fill in any gaps.
