This week is the Cast Previews, Hubby has been over there several times and absolutley LOVES it. He can't rave enough about the ride. He has been pretty good about not giving the secrets away (since I can't ride). But he comes home beaming about how it is the best thing Disney has done and he can't wait to see the general publics reactions to it.
We are heading over there next weekend with friends for the AP/DVC preview, it will be fun to see what people that don't work for the company think of it. But alas, I will still be watching from the sidelines as we wait for our sons arrival to the world
I am going to be there next weekend. If I buy an AP now would I be eligible to ride Everest next weekend? As an AP passholder would I be allowed to bring a friend on the ride with me?
As long as you have your AP to show them on the day of the preview you will be able to ride. Unfortunatley AP holders can not bring a guest to the preview. DVC members can, but AP's can't (unless something has changed in the last week).
Haven't been on the boards for awhile and just as I start to peruse to see the latest on EE - guess who I find! CDS Tapisrouge! I would have been VERY surprised if I had found this before I got your email - at least now we know why you aren't riding! I think hubby should tell you "the ride isn't very good" until you can ride; we'll just have to talk to him about that! Obviously no matter how many hours we have to wait, this ride sounds like it's worth it!
Also, I'm counting on you to support me and tell my newly licensed 16-year-old driver engineer wannabe why he can't have the car to go everywhere by himself when he is a new driver!
the line was extrememly long today and all the fast passes were gone. and shortly after I got my single rider fast pass and ride.. the ride broke down. not technical difficulties. it flat broke. they told people it would be about 4 hours before it would be back up and running.

we are also going next weekend to the pass preview had a hard time getting room ressies I think it will be a very crowded weeked in the parks becasue so many passholders are coming in. We decided to make it an adults only weekend so we are not bringing our boys with.. that way if it is busy we can just enjoy the hotel and everest, and a couple of the clubs in teh evening...
Must add another "congratulations" to CDSTapisRouge !!!!
DNeph (8) and I just made our ressies for another SWW in June - added on 2 days at AKL to see how many times we can manage to ride EE - figuring we'll go each morning and get FP and ride - ride FP - get another FP, etc, etc. !!

We got over there and in line around 3:30 and were told that it would be 2-3 hours since the ride was down. But around 4pm, we heard screaming and knew the ride was open. All in all, it took about 1.5 hours from start to finish. The ride is AWESOME! Here are some pix I took:
It's really nothing special. It's like a bigger Thunder Mountain but with a lot less to see. The yeti and the little movie before the drop are the only real special effects.
