We stayed at the Contemporary in 2000 and LOVED this resort!! It is so convenient!
We were in the North Garden Wing, just a short walk to the main bldg and monorail. We found it quicker to walk to the MK and catch the monorail back to the hotel (first stop from the MK, but going to the MK, it makes three other stops). From our room, we could see the fireworks at the MK. We also found it a very quiet area.
My 5 yr old DD loved sitting at the area right outside the arcade - it had a tv that played Disney cartoons. We'd often get a quick bite to eat and sit and watch TV - its a great spot to "people watch"!
The pools are nice too!
We had breakfast at Chef Mickeys, which we did enjoy. DH and I, and the 5 yr old, ate at Concourse Steakhouse which was also very good!!! Allison loved watching the monorail go by - she would wave to the people on board! I also have two teenagers, and its great to be on the monorail - while we ate dinner at the Wilderness Lodge (there is a boat from the Contemporary to the Wilderness Lodge), the teens went over to Grand Floridian for the Villains Dinner (this dinner has since been discontinued). But they ate dinner and had a great time, then went on and shopped at the other monorail hotels.
Don't know if your little girl would be interested - but my little girl has done the Alice In Wonderland Tea Party three times - she loves it! She's also done the Pirate Cruise, and had a great time! When we go in October, she wants to try Adventures in Cooking! (All of these are held at the Grand Floridian)
Enjoy your stay!
