any advice on computer printers?

Hi-- I just purchased an awesome Disney CD Rom for making all sorts of fun items for my daughters and I can't do a thing because of my wretched old printer.

I was just wondering if anyone had any advice on computer printers/and or had one they LOVED? Right now we have a HP 882. It is old-- from 1999... I am looking for one that can print photos (but they can be on a sheet-- doesn't have to be a 4 x 6). I would like it to be a color printer and I don't need a fax or scanner (have one!)... I am still using a film camera, so we do most of our photo printing out of house, but I would love to buy a digital camera within the next few years.

Right now the printer we have prints photos with slight lines through them and even though I just replaced both color and black cartridges.. the browns are already pink! I can't have a pink Bambi birthday party for my 3 year old!!!

My first real printer was a Canon and ever since then I've fallen in love with them.

I currently have a Canon i320 and got it for $30. The colors are great and it does borderless photo printing up to a 5x7. They don't have this model anymore, but something similar to it is the i350 for $50 or the i455 for $80 which can print up to 8x10 borderless.

The one thing I really like about the Canon is that the ink tanks are separate and so much cheaper than HP or Lexmark's inks. My black ink only cost me around $4 a cartridge online. Since we use the black more than the color and the tanks are separate, it saves us a ton of money just in ink costs alone.
