Any advice on building choice POFQ?

We have decided to stay at POFQ again during our upcoming trip. We have enjoyed the POFQ but the last two times we stayed there the mousekeeping was inconsistent at best. We were in building three both trips. Are there any buildings that may have more reliable mousekeeping service? Obviously our stay was not that bad or we would not continue to stay at POFQ but it is frustrating to come back to the room after 4:00 with the hopes of just relaxing before dinner to find that the room has not been serviced day after day. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Perhaps it is just our luck but if there is something we could request to avoid this frustration we would be very grateful.:)

Thank you!

when you check in - ask for early housekeeping (clean up) - okay don't remember the exact words.

then tell them you didn't get that in building 3 and you want another building.

forgot early means early - you need to be out of your room no later than 9 am ( 8 am if you can do it)- if you really want it clean early.

We just got back 2 days ago from a stay in building 5. Our mousekeeper, Fanny, was awesome and even made 3 towel animals for us!

We stayed in Building 5(5240). Leave a 5$ tip on the first morning and they will race to do your room. I usually then tip $3-$5/day after that. Never have housekeeping issues, and you will always have towel creatures.:thumbsup2

Thanks for the suggestions. We are generous with the tip ($3-$5/day for two adults), but found on our last trip there were three different days that despite putting a decorated, labeled envelope out the mousekeeper did not take it. We will try the request for the early mousekeeping as we are always out of the room early. Thanks again!

The choice of building is unlikely to affect the quality of mousekeeping. It probably depends on which mousekeepers happen to be assigned to your building when you are there. The fact that you had two bad experiences in Building 3 is likely nothing more than a coincidence.

For the record, I stayed in Building 3 last October for 4 days and the mousekeeping service was perfect every day. So luck probably plays a larger role than location.

I read recently that the main pool at POFQ was temporarily closed due to construction, and that FQ guests had to go to Riverside if they wanted to swim. When we stayed at Riverside last month, we did not leave any tips for house keeping and our room was made-up very nicely EVERY day. (We never leave a tip for house keeping, not that we're trying to be cheap, but it seems like housekeeping is a necessary, and it's not an 'extra' service that they are providing. Oh well, only my opinion.)

I got the really cool envelopes at www.themouseforless.com. You can get them in a PDF format which you'll have to print out, cut out and fold or you can get them where you just insert the envelope into the printer and they come out with the cute pics on them. Either way, Have fun! :woohoo:

Can you get decorated envelopes from somewhere?

My daughter and I just made them for our upcoming WDW vac... We took regular envelopes my daughter (4) decorated them and put disney stickers on them... and I wrote the day and MOUSEKEEPING on them... I am thinking I might stick a little extra in Day #1.... :)

We had building 5 and had no problems at all. We had a towel elephant when we arrived - I named him Milo and he presided on our dresser for the whole stay!

That is one point, but until restaurants let you go back to the kitchen to get your plate, waiters and waitresses are a necessity too.

We were in Building 5. We came back to the room every afternoon for a break and the rooms had always been done by then.

I always leave the tip envelope on the pillows. It's in plain site and it always seems to be gone when we get back to the room. Also we call housekeeping when we get to our room and ask for early housekeeping for the week. It seems to work, It's just a friendly reminder.

We stayed in Building 1 and never had any problems. We left $3-$5 per day for two adults. I believe we had 3 different mousekeepers over our 7 day stay.
I decorated our own envelopes using some markers and regular white envelopes. I'm not all that atistically inclined... but did what I could making sure to keep MOUSEKEEPING in big letters on the front. :thumbsup2
Enjoy your trip!!
