hi all,

going down in 3 weeks with dh & dd (4). wanted to bring some water, juice and snacks so we could have for the week. i was thinking of ordering from a place down in florida to have them shipped to my hotel but the minimum is like $75 and i won't need that much stuff. any advice for shipping or bringing a case of water, juice boxes & somes snacks? what have others done?

Buy juice boxes at a bulk store like SAMS CLUB. Freeze them, before you pack. Then pack the frozen juice boxes in a zip lock bag on the bottom of your suitcase.

Pack granola bars, small cereal boxes, chips, candy, and sandwhich meat and bread. We basically devote an entire carryon size suit case to food, then that frees up a suitcase for things we buy to take home.

We buy one 3 or 4 water bottles from the hotel gift shop and just refill them using sink water. (we are not water snobs) and freeze them in the room fridge.

We also buy 1 or 2 bottles of milk at the hotel and that's fine for the week.

what a great idea! i think i am going to devote one small suitcase to food, drinks, etc. - i don't know about it being a carry-on due to restrictions at Newark airport but thats okay, we have magicial express! :)

STAPLES can ship a 24 pack of Poland Spring water directly to your resort for you. Go to your nearest Staples for more info.

Make sure you remember that! They wont' let you take the drinks on carry-on unless it's only 3 oz.! :rotfl: Doubt 3 oz. would help much in FL!

thank you so much for the "staples" shipping idea. really cheap & easy. how far in advance should i have it shipped?

We used Garden Grocer (www.gardengrocer.com) which has no minimum purchase but charges a $10 delivery fee. It was great. We got two cases of water, some milk, apples, and juice boxes, the total (including the delivery fee) was around $50. They bring the stuff right to your room and were on time. We'll use them again on the next trip.
