We are coming over to stay in Anaheim and SD for 17 nights in September. I have read a bit about this dinner experience and thought it my be good for my 10 year old son.

"Discover the magic of the Middle Ages at Medieval Times in Anaheim – right next door to Disneyland! An exciting evening of pageantry, romance and sport awaits you! Enjoy a sumptuous 4-course feast as you watch a spirited tournament."

Any thought? reviews?? discounts?? :rolleyes1

Also.. I think we are staying at Embassy Suites South... any advice on transport?

TIA

The Anaheim Orange county web site has a coupon section which has a buy one get one free for the Medieval Dinner - sorry I am clueless with posting links:confused3

We went to it last August and got a great rate of $25/person. We had always wanted to try it and the price was finally right. DH and I thought it was okay. But our 2 kids (11 and 8) and niece (6) thought it was a blast. They had a great night rooting for our knight. The food ws okay. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The kids got a kick out of eating without utensils (none are provided). We did have lots of wipies and hand sanitizers. We're going back to DL next month and the kids are again asking to go back. With the buy 1 get 1 free coupon it ends up being about the same price as goofy's dinner and kids are willing to forego a character dinner at goofy's to go back to medieval times.

Thanks very much for your help everyone...

I think our children... especially our son.. will LOVE this!

Medieval Times is a lot of fun!!! We really enjoyed it. Our kids are picky eaters so they didn't eat much but they had a great time cheering for our Knight. :) He lost but oh well, it was fun anyway. I have no thoughts on transportation, we drive to DL so we have our own car but the hotel should be able to help you with that.

If your hotel is near DL you will more than likely need to take a taxi. You could ask the hotel. It is a little bit of a drive from DL.

We went to the one in Toronto Friday night and had a blast!!!! We took my in-laws and my niece (10), nephew (6), and daughter (3) Stella was a little peeved that there weren't any princesses there (they had a Queen).

Sign up on their website. They offer BOGO offers and Birthday specials all the time. We went last year for Thanksgiving (!). It was fun and reasonable with BOGO. I ordered the upgrade package and we sat front row right by the King and Queen. We received flags for our team and complimentary photos and CDS. The knight gave my DD 7 a flower. Food was pretty good, chicken half (really big) on the bone, garlic bread, potatoes, and soup in a cup. Dessert was a turnover. We didn't buy anything extra while we there, but do plan on leaving a tip as they pretty much straight out asked for it! I would go again!

Two tips from a visit a couple years ago. One, there is no substitution or "kids menu" -- if you have a picky eater you might want to bring something to supplement. Two, they give you a choice of cola or diet cola, but I asked nicely and got Sprite for my kids -- they just have to go to the bar area to get it.

It's a pricey evening even with coupons, but the way I looked at it was a show that included some food, rather than an expensive dinner. My kids really enjoyed it and I am considering the similar pirate dinner show the next time we go.
